Owner description: Hail to the Rack - we are THE beer festival everyday - open everyday and sometimes until 0100 in the morning. We love gimmicks and schemes = follow us on twitter to find out what is happening. We treat you like an adult and don't fine you if your phone happens to go off. We lead as Dover first micro and although others focus on awards and medals - our focus is always on you! Plus great ale and fabulous - imaginative drinkies. We have fun- if you want graveyards use the others

Rack of Ale was recommended to us by Martin from Bleriot's b&b. It is a fabulous "micro" pub that serves interesting racks of 3 different ales or ciders. (other sizes on offer too). Friendly atmosphere - really good pork scratchings! and not something I would have expected to find in Dover. Well worth a visit.

Discovered The Rack of Ale micro pub after leaving the recent Dover Beer Festival a tad early.
Pleasant Oasis with friendly service & good ales. Not a fizzy LAGER in sight..
Will go back again next time in Dover. Cheers. Don't stay more than 2hours or you might get a bit wobbly?

Just got in from a fantastic evening in Dover, this pub stands out as firstly there is no bar and secondly it feels more like home than being out. The service is amazing, table service, warm friendly and welcoming. The beer/cider selection offers lots of choice without any of the usual lager/beer nonsense in chain pubs, the gem of this place is that if you don't know what you want, have it all, a 1/3 of a pint tray is available so try three beers or ciders as you wish instead of sticking with one choice. Equally the staff are keen to offer advice on what they have and make recommendations. I could only wish for this type of selection, service and atmosphere in my home town, so a must for all visitors to Dover

Dover was crying out for a decent little pub and now it has one in the form of The Rack of Ale in Park Street. The owners Trish and Steve are friendly hosts and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. They serve some great local ales but I prefer the elderflower and ginger ciders. As its small it can get busy and there are not many seats but there is always a table to lean on and it is a great way to meet the local community. Food is not served here apart from the normal pub snacks which are mainly sourced locally.

We normally go in for a quick drink but end up staying for hours as we always have a good time.
