Owner description: Whether you're a total beginner, an improving golfer, or an expert looking for a test, there's a golf course for you at Stonelees Golf Centre, located in Ramsgate on the beautiful Kent coast. Some golf courses boast that they are seriously challenging. That's fine for the expert but no fun for the beginner. Some courses are short with no serious difficulty. That's fine for the beginner but boring for the better golfer. Stonelees is the golf centre that solves this problem by offering a golf course for the beginner, a golf course for the "average" or improving player, and a golf course for the low-handicapper.Stonelees is one of the few golf centres anywhere that offers three distinct golf courses, with each one becoming more difficult. We have a Par 3 course, an Executive course, and the full-length Heights Course which means that you can enjoy a game at Stonelees, whatever your standard.

The revamped facilities complete with better than value for money restaurant and golf shop is brilliant for all levels of player. Only rarely do you get caught up behind the stragglers. Greens are well kept with clear posting for the next hole. With little formality, the centre attracts a good mix of customers. Choose from the 9 or 18 hole, practice your swing in the nets or putt away to your heart's content followed by a meal or drink at the friendly bar. I've not been disappointed yet.

“Everything for the Golfer!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2011

Stonelees Golf Centre has to be the best in the area and there are quite a few! 3 great courses to try, an excellent driving range, a well stocked shop with some great deals and a fantastic club house. All this coupled with the most friendly and efficient staff I have come across makes the whole experience of Stonelees such a pleasant one. Very highly recommended!

“Great Venue for All Levels and friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2011

This venue is a very good course for all people at every level of the golfing ability. They have a fun 'pitch and putt' style 9 Hole Par 3 Course, a more demanding 9 hole course with a few par 4's and then the professional course with very demanding 9 holes. I am yet to brave it with the professional course, but working on it.
The driving range is very good value for money also, for some practice before the round.
The shop and bar staff are very friendly, and the food is very good.
Looking forward to heading back there.

“Worth a look at”

With three 9 hole courses you have got something for everyone. The par 3 course is good simple fun but with a couple of more interesting holes to keep you on your toes. If the weather has been bad this course can get a little sodden so dont wear your best trainers. The executive course a great, pleanty of water hazzards lots of interest and all of the holes different. You can even get the driver out on a couple of them. A very enjoyable course. The heights course is much longer and since the changes a couple of years ago now feels like a proper course rather than a temporary one. The course has been well designed with dykes and other hazzards just where a mid ability golfer is going to end up putting the ball so it keeps you thinking. Pleanty of oportunities to give the ball a good thump as well. I dare you to go for the green on the second hole and not lay up!

Sit and have a beer next to the putting green once your round is over or have a bite to eat. It's not going to win any gastronomy awards but it does the job. Driving range is fine, take the kids round the putting course or play in the simulator with your mates. its all good. This is a golf club where they are not too serious so you feel awkward like some snobby clubs, they genuinely are happy for you to pay and play. Club pro's are like most club pro's- far too important to give you the time of day.....unless you already know them and regularly part with your hard earned cash in thier direction

“Good place to begin your golfing career.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2011

Stonelees golf center is very good for the beginner with the par 3 course being a good course to start out at. I myself began my golf at Stonelees due to it not being a daunting place to go to for the first time. Some golf courses can seem a bit elitist however I didn't get this feeling at stonelees. The executive course is also good for the beginner but also provides a challenge for the better golfer due to it being a very good course to practise your short game. Driving range is very good to practise due to having many bays and also electric tees. The american golf shop is also really good with a huge array of golfing products.
