Driving around the Kent coast we came to rest in Ramsgate and decided to stay at the Royal Harbour hotel – what a little gem. The reception was very welcoming. Dave went out of his way to show us the hotel amenities before showing us to our room, number 8. Although a little small, for one night it was more than adequate, clean and comfortable and on the 2nd floor, a view of the sea. Down stairs is spacious, with several rooms to relax and chill out in. Games to enjoy, records to play and an honesty bar. But what topped it was free cheese and biscuits when you returned in the evening. Breakfast was a good spread of cold buffet and/or hot full English. If you ever find yourself in this area, then look to stay at the Royal Harbour Hotel.

An extraordinarily beautiful place with great views of the sea, and where the hundreds of pictures are put together with an artist's eye with enormous care put into their hanging, as with so much in this place. The communal areas are so comfortable that you really want to spend time there - and they create an ambience that means its easy to get into conversation. There are papers music and an eclectic assortment of books

The room we stayed in was fantastic, clean, comfortable, stylish but unfussy and a real delight.

The only disappointment was the breakfast. A great range as others have pointed out but the bacon was hard and the bread was not up to the standard I'd expect from what is in all other areas simply outstanding. My partner found her fruit salad very good - it may just have been an off day or that I was unlucky. Nonetheless in every other aspect this is a real gem.

Managed to find this Gem very late afternoon. Everything was superb, staff efficient, polite, helpfull. Rooms furnished to 5 star standard together with "Honesty Bar".
Full English Breakfast was better than most 5 star Hotels!
No wonder it was voted "Best Small Hotel" 2012.
Dont let this one slip away !!

Room Tip: I imagine all rooms are good. Sea view worth the "extra".

What can I say, from beginning to end this hotel was outstanding, all the small added touches i.e. cheese & biscuits, having your bed covers turn down, just makes this hotel one of the best in the UK.... A stunning view of the harbour which no doubt would look even more amazing in the summer. The staff could not help you enough, they were so friendly and warm.... The lounge was comfy with a beautiful open log fire, making feel like you was home..... Breakfast was perfection, so much choice and the cook breakfast was served piping hot....I just could not fault this hotel and will definitely be returning next year.....

Wow! - Where on earth can I start, I have so much to tell you about this perfectly gorgeous little gem of a hotel situated probably in the most perfect position over looking Ramsgate Harbour.

Our stay from beginning to end was just magical in every way, from the beautifully decorated cosy but clinically clean bedroom and shower room, to the quirky but very welcoming lounge area and extremely cute TV room, not to mention the wonderful interiors of all the rooms with paintings, old books, and knick knacks of all sorts dotted around as if they have always been there. The log fires just added to the entire feel of this wonderful place, the whole house felt as if you were actually staying in someone’s private home! – We have never felt a feeling such as that from a hotel before.

The friendly and very welcoming staff just added to the whole experience for us, nothing was too much trouble, the little touches like an honesty bar, complimentary cheese and biscuits for supper ……. And the breakfast!! The breakfast is fantastic with a huge choice of cereals, pastries and cakes, cold meats, smoked salmon, fruit cocktails, honeycomb honey strawberries, yoghurts as well as a great English breakfast cooked fresh as you like it, the addition of flowers waiting in our room just added to the whole weekend for us, a very romantic setting for our anniversary that we cannot wait to return too.

Thank you sooo much, keep doing what you are doing and we will see you again soon. In fact we had such a wonderful time, we are already planning to come and stay again for a long weekend in March.

Tim & Simone XX

Room Tip: The front three rooms have access to private balconies – if you’re lucky enough to get one! – We were, and it was just the icing on a very beautiful cake!
