The Viking Ship 'Hugin'
Reviewed 26 July 2013

It was placed by the side of the road in a park opposite some modern houses and looked a bit odd. However it is worth seeing - more interesting to us was the fact that the park is formed from the old Hovercraft terminal and it was fun working out how it used to be. There are loos and a snack place with ice creams.

A wonderful full size Viking ship, Has been put behind a security fence to protect it from vandals.
Restored a few years back,a wonderful relic of the history in this area, Hengist and Horsa landed here in a boat of the same type.
Set on the cliffs at cliffsend, overlooking Pegwell bay,a nice grass area with parking and a café etc:-Come and see for yourself.......

You can park for free if you get a coffee from the amazing little hut. Food is good value. Lovely walks down to the old hoverport. Fascinating little corner.

perfect spot for relaxing. and stunning views across the water. good for walkers, and dog lovers. and for viewing the Viking Ship. the cafe has good food at good prices, for example, breakfast for £5, 2 bacon,2 sausages,2 hash browns, egg and beans or tomato, and bread and butter and tea or coffee. friendly staff and visitors willing to chat to you. opens from April till October. park for free and have a picnic if you want . what more can you ask for in this day and age. chill out and watch the world go by. and toys for children to play on for free
