Happened upon this place completely by chance, and extremely glad we did. I had the home made lasagne and my nan had the steak and ale pie, the lasagne came with chips and salad and the pie with new potatoes and veg. The lasagne was gorgeous, the tomato sauce was rice and flavoursome, the gravy in the pie was to die for and the size of the lumps of steak was to die from (if one had been thrown at you). The atmosphere was very friendly, the drinks were reasonably priced, 2 main meals and 2 drinks, inc one pint of cider, and it came to a fraction over £20, that is a bargain any day of the week. Throw in that the lass who took the orders was rather attractive as well and all in all a very nice meal out. We will be returning next time we are down this way. Thank you Racing Greyhound

We went for Saturday lunch. Had been recommended by work colleagues. Pub was fairly busy. Staff friendly and a warm welcome. Good selection of meals and reasonable prices. Had sirloin steak, chips, peas, salad etc. I had the lasagne, chips etc. Well presented, boiling hot food, big portions and quick service. Great selection of tasty puddings too. The staff were helpful and efficient. We will be back. The only reason I gave four stars not five is that the decor and feel of the place is a bit dated.....but hey.......who cares!! Great pub, give it a try.

Booked for lunch on a Saturday. Pub was very busy with a wedding reception taking place as well but this did not detract from our celebrations. Fantastic food, plenty of it, and well cooked. Good selection on the menu, something for all tastes. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good value too !! Highly recommended and will definitely be going back.
