I stay several times a year in this nice little hotel. Clean and quiet rooms providing all thats necessary. Love the pub across the street, nice place for a beer and a good meal.

We stayed here in August for my husband's birthday weekend and used the hotel as a base from which to visit Ramsgate and also Broadstairs for the Folk Week. The hotel staff were friendly and very welcoming. Our room was on the top floor - something I asked for and got. I was glad because there were lots of people staying (a wedding) so it was a bit noisy. The beds were ok, a bit small so we didn't sleep all that well and when we arrived our room wasn't ready but the hotel receptionist offered us a free drink to compensate. We never actually received it ha ha! but it didn't detract from us having a fine weekend. We saw Morris dancers in Broadstairs and ate out at Eddie Gilbert's in Ramsage - well worth a visit. It's a brilliant place to eat out - entrance in a slightly run down street through the downstairs of a fish and chip shop. Upstairs is the restaurant and another world entirely.

Room Tip: if you book online then rooms are cheaper than if you call the hotel direct, but the rooms you are a...

We had a lovely twin room which was booked just a couple of days before we travelled. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we hadn't booked breakfast we decided to eat in the hotel where there was a good selection of food of a high quality.
Our only complaint was regarding the 'sea view' room and the hotel windows were very dirty and spoilt any view anyway.

Room Tip: We chose this hotel as the rooms were advertised as having a 'Sea view', but you should be a...

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay we are pleased you found our staff to be friendly and helpfull, and that you enjoyed your breakfasts.

We have taken on board your comments regarding the sea view rooms and are sorry that you were disappointed with the view from your room. Being on Pegwell bay we do have the benefits of the beautiful cliff tops and surrounding area but this does also mean when the tide is out is is quite a way out. We do have a seletion of Superior doubles that are located on the corner of the hotel, these have panoramic views out across the bay and cliff tops. Should you wish to book with us again please feel free to contact me direct and I will be happy to discuss the feaures of each of these rooms with you.

With regard your comments about the windows, we are restricted to which of the windows our staff can reach and therefor clean daily. Judging by your pictures I guess your room was 304, which is on the third floor. These windows can only be reached with a telescopic pole and we have a company contracted to clean these ever 2 weeks. We did have some very windy weather one particular week in september which caused a lot of dust to blow off of the bay, which obviously dirtied the windows. On this occassion we did arrange to have the windows cleaned earlier than scheduled, im sorry this clearly wasn't before you departed the hotel.

We hope to welcome you back in the future.

Kind Regards

We got married this August at the Pegwell Bay Hotel. Words can not express our gratitude to all the staff for the help with the wedding and for making all the family and friends very welcome. They accomadated from small parties, to large families, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The venue was just perfect for the wedding, with a large decking area over looking the sea which is where the ceremony can be held.
We are not local to Kent, but Becca the wedding orgainiser helped us all the way to ensure that the day was perfect for us.
The wedding package and guest packages were good value at the highest quality.
We would highly recommend the Pegwell Bay Hotel for weddings and general visits. We shall be booking up our first anniversary there next year!

Stayed at the Pegwell Bay Hotel with my girlfriend on a Friday night for just one night, because they didn't have a room available on the Saturday. I don't know how old the hotel is but there's a date of ninteeen thirty-something on the side; I think it's been heavily modified over the years. Room was verging on small for a double but impressively fitted out: card entry system for the room door and electricity, 'a brilliant mirror' my partner said, good quality solid wood furniture. The hotel mentions that the bar for the hotel is the pub across the road which you can reach through a tunnel. This is true but it seems like half the hotel is in the basement across the road from the hotel - all the wedding and conference space, so it just seems like you're going in to the basement. Pub has a great location on a corner overlooking the bay. It's a traditional pub serving food such as fish & chips, burgers etc. There's another good pub with an equally good view and much better outdoor seating practically next door.

Had the breakfast which is served in the hotel in a very impressive room/small hall in the basement. Again, very well organized and no complaints. Overall very impressed and would go again. It's part of a small local chain of hotels, 'Thornton inns' - or something and alot of experience shows in how the rooms have been equipped.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on our hotel. We are delighted that you had an enjoyable stay with us.

The Hotel does have quite a 'quirky' lay out as the accommodation part of the building is set one side of the road, on the top of the cliff, the bar function rooms and kitchens are actually set the other side of the road- at the bottom of the cliff! Which actually makes ground floor in one part of the building 2 floors lower than that of the other part- a very unique set up!

We hope you decide to stay with us again should you be visiting the area in the future.

Kind Regards

Superb location, good staff, tunnel connection to the pub and meals works well.
Had both breakfasts out on the terrace with wonderful views across Pegwell Bay, difficult to better this anywhere.
Shame the rooms are not a bit bigger - old building and it seems they are all small.

Thank you for your recent review of our hotel, we are pleased to hear that you had a pleasant stay with us, and were able to enjoy our lovely outside terrance area - a great start to the day, enjoying your breakfast and the views!

As you stated, it is a very old building and the space and layout were restricted when the removation took place. We do have a number of superior doubles that are more spacious than our standard room types; many with superb views across the bay. Should you wish to visit us again, please contact us direct and we will be happy to discuss the room types with you.
