The Spa Hotel

We stayed at The Spa for a family wedding which took place in the hotel. The wedding was in the Orangeary which is such a lovely room with big windows all around, overlooking the garden. Then we had drinks and canapes on the lawn. The gardens are wonderful! Then we had a meal in a large room that the staff later transformed into a bar and disco. I was very impressed with the use of space. The staff were very efficient and discrete too so the day ran very smoothly. The next day we had a big buffet breakfast just for the guests. The bride and groom and their families were very pleased with how it all turned out. It was a lovely family event.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gardens at the back

The Spa Hotel has a great menu for afternoon tea with friends ,family and to celebrate birthdays or special events. Staff are very friendly and look after you very well. The seating areas are comfortable and homely with great views across the garden .

I stayed here overnight a few years ago. I paid an extortionate amount for a pokey room with no view and old-fashioned decor. I would have preferred a Travel Lodge. Then, this year on Mother's Day, we went along and paid almost £25 a head for dry stale sandwiches, a waiter who couldn't comprehend that vegetarians don't eat meat or fish; and another waiter who popped the champagne all over me and soaked me. No apology and no discount, just gave me a handful of napkins. I wouldn't visit the Spa Hotel again even if it was free. Very over-priced and over-rated.

A traditional styled room, slightly dated. Room was ok, quite warm overnight even with windows open. There is no air-con. It was quite a small double bed. The room was clean. Good choice of breakfast. Probably not value for money for what we had to pay.

This is a good 4 star hotel and really good value for money. Staff was friendly and the hotel has a nice feel. Very, clean, old world hospitality and nice size room. Free WiFi which I love.

The restaurant was excellent and once again good value.

Service is the lounge is very slow and after supper we had to ask reception twice to send someone as there is no-one there to look after guests

This is an excellent hotel to book and I am back there next month

Stayed here overnight as we were eating in Tunbridge Wells. Thought as we were paying the higher price we would get something a bit special. Our room was basic and the curtains were torn. The rate does not include breakfast. The "champagne" bar is small and totally out of character with the rest of the hotel.
Would I stay again? NO

Stayed with my girlfriend over the bank holiday weekend. Spacious room, bed was amazing! All the staff were very friendly. Gym was adequate, and my girlfriend had a treatment which was fantastic apparently. Breakfast was excellent. Will definitely come back.
