We stayed at the Victorian Bed and Breakfast for the first (but not the last) time in December 2013.

The decor is fascinating, the service outstanding, beds wonderfully comfortable and we had the best breakfast for a very long time.

The house is situated off the road - with off road parking - and within easy walking distance of central Tunbridge Wells.

If you enjoy staying in non-corporate boutique accommodation with log fires and a wonderful host then this is the place for you!

This B&B is definitely worth a visit. The owner/host (Harold) is an ex butler and knows how to look after his guests. It is like stepping back in time... amazing decoration and artefacts and Harold has so much information about the things in the house and victorian times, it is really interesting. Afternoon tea is served on arrival. The breakfast is all cooked freshly and very delicious. We stayed 2 nights and were given the 'Victorian Room' - it has recently be finished and the attention to detail in every aspect is amazing. The bathroom has a lovely stand alone victorian bath tub opposite an open fireplace. We were shown two other rooms in the house and they were both very nicely decorated. The house is a 5 min walk to the new town and a lovely 15min walk through parks/gardens to the Pantiles. Overall a lovely weekend in Tunbridge Wells.

just one night there, very comfortable & warm with open fires in the public areas. Unique, original Victorian furniture, pictures, bathroom fittings & even wallpaper. We were made to feel most welcome & Harold was happy to explain the history & significance of many of his extensive collection of artefacts. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, happy to return anytime. Do not expect TV, radio, phone, bright lighting or run of the mill breakfast or you will be disappointed.

Room Tip: All we saw were unique & interesting

Just returned from a most enjoyable week-end at The Victorian Bed and Breakfast. Our Host, Mr Harold Brown, was such a delight to meet and a fountain of knowledge. Made us feel at home straight away. We both loved the feel of the house. Victorian throughout and so many delightful artefacts in every nook and cranny. It has obviously taken Harold a lifetime to gather together such treasures. If I were forced to find any negatives, then I would have to say that we both would have loved a hospitality tray in the bedroom. I fully understand that it might not be "in keeping" to have a kettle on show, but perhaps it could be hidden away in a cupboard maybe? Obviously, a television wasn't to be seen either, so I thanked my lucky stars that I had taped the first episode of the new "Downton" series! We did enjoy the welcoming tea and home made Victoria Sponge (with fresh cream and strawberries!) served to guests around 4.30 to 5.30 every day. We were able to make friends and even arranged to go out later that evening to dinner together. A real bonus and not something that would be likely to happen in a Premier Inn! Altogether a lovely experience and one that we hope to repeat as soon as possible.

Room Tip: The Garden Room is ideal if you don't like stairs!

I use Trip Advisor a lot to check out possible destinations, but have never written a review before. My husband and I are quite particular about what we like, but charm and hospitality are vital elements of an enjoyable stay. The Victorian B&B is absolutely wonderful. It's stuffed full of the most amazing and original Victorian antiques and Harold Brown, the owner, is a splendid and most generous host, as well as being incredibly knowledgeable about the Victorian period. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone who likes to stay somewhere a little different from the usual corporate blandness of many modern hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for the most recently refurbished room. It was just being finished when we stayed and looked fan...

This is no ordinary "themed" B & B.
Harold Brown has a love of the Victorian era and has carefully selected artefacts and photographs from the period to recreate a tasteful, elegant house which has been decorated in keeping with high quality textiles, soft furnishings and wall paper. But best of all - Harold was a Butler to Royalty - so the service he gives his lucky guests is first class too. The rooms and en suite bathrooms are spotless. Guests are met on arrival with afternoon tea and homemade cake. Breakfast is a feast.
Don't expect a TV in your room, or tea and coffee making facilities in your room. But if you want old world charm and service, in the heart of the Kentish Weald and within walking distance of The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells - you will be delighted with your stay

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the house are quieter.

We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Victorian Bed and Breakfast. A truly remarkable haven filled with authentic victorian artefacts, the house is elegant and sumptuous but is also comfortable and homely. Harold Brown, the owner, is an extremely kind man and afternoon tea and cake is offered every day to be taken in the lovely sheltered gardens. He is also quick to ensure that everyone`s tastes and appetites are well catered for at breakfast time with quality fresh produce, cereals, freshly squeezed juices and the like! The bedroom we stayed in was large, warm and beautifully decorated with lots of storage space and a well equipped bathroom with powerful shower.
The house is very well situated in a quiet position on Lansdowne Road, has ample parking space and is well within easy walking distance of the city centre and a wide variety of restaurants. For those wishing to visit National Trust and English Heritage properties and places you really couldn`t be in a more central position - and Harold is a mine of information about all of them!
Highly recommended - a visit to Royal Tunbridge Wells wouldn`t be the same without a stay at The Victorian!
