“Amazing and will definitely be back!”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

We were very lucky to stay here through groupon and it was a fantastic offer. I will happily pay double to go back again and have every intention of doing so. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room was stunning. We upgraded to a suite and it was comparative to some of the 5* places we've stayed (in fact stayed one night in a place last year that cost 10 times the price and wasn't anywhere near as nice!).
We walked around the beautiful surrounding area for a bit in order to find somewhere nice to eat but things were starting to close so we decided to eat at the hotel not realising that our meal was completely included in the groupon offer!!! It was unbelievable. The food was delicious, one of the best meals out in a long time. Unfortunately I had a plane to catch at 7am so didn't get the breakfast but I just felt like it had been such great value that I can't wait to go back soon. The hotel is a little gem, the bed was really comfy and the room was beautiful and spotlessly clean.
Would highly highly recommend this place!

My husband and I stayed here for one night as we were guests at a nearby wedding. The room itself (a small double) was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable.

However, for the price I would have expected a kettle in the room rather than a rather useless empty bureau. The shower handle came off in my hand and for the price I would also have expected an English breakfast to be included in the price (all that is included is continental). I think some other guests thought it was and were then surprised to be presented with a bill, as you are not given anything to sign at the table.

Staff serving the breakfast were very slow and inefficient - had to ask for plates, for milk (they then brought sugar, which we didn't want).

We booked in for a champagne tea and overnight stay through groupon. We were told tea was until 6. Unfortunately we were late but telephoned and the staff were really obliging and offered it to us at 6.30. However it wasnt worth it! The fruit cake was inedible and the scones stale. The room was beautiful but no tea and coffee facilities or menu for room service. The offer included breakfast but it turned out to just be continental which wasnt stated in the deal. This involved toast, croissants and cereal. No cold meats/cheese, fruit or yoghurt were offered.
I felt really disappointed with the overall experience and when I emailed the hotel to share my disappointment I received a really rude email back telling me to stay at the Premier Inn next time!!!
Overall the hotel felt unprofessional and misrepresented as a high class boutique hotel. I won't be going back there!

Spent one night here on a business trip booked by a client. The hotel is full of character, located in the Pantiles and has free parking available nearby. The staff were friendly and the room comfortable. It was in fairness a very small single, but not a surprise in a hotel which is clearly of some vintage and the sense of character and charm made up for that. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. Breakfast was good, although anything other than a croissant or toast plus coffee etc. incurred a surcharge which seemed a shame. Overall, I was left feeling disappointed I hadn't more time to spend nearby or to try out the hotel's bar/restaurant which looked very inviting. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here after our wedding in march along with several of our guests. The rooms are lovely but ours did get a bit hot in the morning. We loved the shower & the breakfast was good. We were able to drop our luggage of early that morning & they were flexible with our arrival time after the wedding

Booked 7 rooms for wedding party after looking round in October. Very impressed by rooms & service when first looked. Change of General Manager between booking & stay in March. Issues included - change of room from 2nd to 3rd floor when minimal steps had been requested, change was denied by management with no apology until evidence produced. No drawers in any rooms. One STANDARD double so small not even room for a coffee table - had to hold tray to drink tea. No tea & coffee facility in room and waited over an hour for room service. Tea for three was a pot for one with three cups. One morning all breakfasts were charged to same room number. Hot breakfast not included in price, not mentioned when asked if rate included breakfast. Breakfast cereal did not arrive for one of party. Amounts of jams and butters did not increase with guest numbers.Toast arrived half hour before butter on one morning, another guest waited an hour for breakfast. Sat down for lunch, given menus, then told food had finished - c.2pm on Saturday. Over bath shower with no grip on bath surface, resulted in fall and bruising.
Had this been a budget hotel we would've laughed - it's not, and we're not. Staff need training and classification of rooms needs reviewing.

Room Tip: Room 43 was about twice the size of the other standard doubles we had. Room 50 should definitely be...
