having stayed in Campanile Hotels in Europe it was with interest that my wife and i, our daughter and her friend stayed in Hull's Campanile. we chose it because it is economical and we needed 3 rooms for two nights, i wanted somewhere with secure car parking, and somewhere reasonably central in Hull. the rooms were all fine, everything worked and although the rooms are a little small, they are adequate. in terms of value for money at just over £40 for a twin or double room it is an above average deal. the car parking is fine - virtually outside the rooms. the breakfast wasn't such good value and there are quite a few suitable places in Hull centre to go to - like McCoys cafe near Princess Quay. the downside was that on each night between 1 and 3 am we were disturbed by a handful of drunken men returning from stag nights out. that is a downside of reasonably priced accommodation on friday and saturday nights. the staff were excellent in handling that, and the French manager was heard at 3am to be gently encouraging the men to their rooms, and i much appreciated his bravery and efforts in doing that. indeed the staff were very good, a mixture it seemed of French, English and Russian speakers. they also said that it was very unusual for that to have happened as they won't take bookings for such parties of men, and they thought that the men had all booked seperately to overcome that ruling.
