Premier Inn Hull City Centre Hotel
Certificate of Excellence

Staff were excellent and the rooms spotless, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and on a Sunday is served until 11.30. There is some noise from the adjacent road but it's a city centre hotel so not too surprised. Allow an extra few minutes to come and go from your room as there are only two main lifts and this is a 13 storey building so they take a while. That said, the views as a consequence are very good. Excellent car parking under the hotel but the street level entrance itself is a bit of a non event. The rest of the development in the area hasn't taken place so what would be an excellent bridge across the river to the old town still isn't complete, meaning the pedestrian route into town is less than salubrious.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view over the Humber or the river Hull

Nicely located across the bridge from the old town and opposite The Deep.

Staff were universally excellent and more than helpful. Food was excellent and fairly priced (seems popular with locals too).

This hotel in particular gives the impression of a much higher quality hotel than the price suggests.

Will be even better when the connecting bridge is completed.

Stayed here for three nights in April. Clean, modern and appealing Hotel, with excellent views of the locale, since the lowest guest rooms are located on the 7th floor, rising to 12th (lower floors are car parking only...)

Ignore the signs directing you to the (overflow) parking under the flyover, and use the integrated parking within the lower 7 floors of the Hotel itself. Proceed to Reception on the 7th floor. (An electronic swipe room key is required in the lifts to access the guest floors above 7th).

Hotel itself is sited in a somewhat 'scrappy' location (bit of a building site as of review date) - but within easy walking of Hull Centre itself, and specifically of 'The Deep' Aquarium - well worth a visit (Sharks a speciality...)

Usual tasty 'much-as-you-like' Premier Inn breakfasts, and the restaurant was one of the better ones seen at any budget hotel (recommend the Steaks!). Being on the 7th floor - great views out over the Humber Estuary - as far as the Humber Bridge and beyond.

Only minor annoyance was that we had prebooked the daily £22 'breakfast plus 3 course evening meal' Meal Deal option, and when we had checked in, the Reception (rather than provide us with our own printed Meal Deal vouchers) stated that they would send them through direct to the Restaurant 'for simplicity's sake...'

So, unsure what happened, but on EVERY occasion when we entered the Restaurant, we were asked whether we were on a Meal Deal, and there ensued much checking of lists against room numbers, etc - the message clearly hadn't got through.

Now, we don't consider ourselves *particularly* noteworthy people, however, the Restaurant was clearly not that busy - and to be quizzed EVERY time (sometimes by the same staff member), gave the impression somewhat of being greeted by 'friendly goldfish'...by the final day, had resorted to: "Yes, we are STILL on a Meal Deal!" :-)

(We did also experience a forgotten drinks order on our first night, and similarly, a forgotten starter on our second...the staff were always extremely friendly, but scope for sharpening things up a little...maybe we were just expecting too much?)

Summary: All in all, a very relaxing, pleasant and good value experience, the slightly random events in the Restaurant notwithstanding...on this basis, appears that we are likely to remain 'Premier Inn People' ;-)

Room Tip: Ask at booking for a top (12th) floor room, facing the City (NW) - likely to be the quietest.

We stayed at The Premier Inn Hull for a one night stay on a recent Saturday night. This was the first time that we have stayed with Premier Inn and we were very impressed with the level of the accomodation, the facilities on offer and the very reasonable price. We will definitely be staying with Premier Inn again.

Stayed here for a friends wedding for a 3 night stay. A new site a short walk from the City Centre and literally over the road from "The Deep" where my best friends wedding was taking place - very convinient for a short stroll without hair getting blown away by the North Sea winds! I was travelling on my own and found the area a bit eerie at night - especially walking into the lobby and having to use the lift. However, I had no problems and the friendly taxi drivers that dropped me off watched me into the lobby (people in Hull are so friendly)!. When I checked in my room was very dusty, due to a chest infection I was getting over I was coughing my head off - called down to reception and they moved me straight away and apologised prefusely. Very good staff - couldn't do enough for you without being over bearing. Had a meal in the restaurant while waiting for my train back and it was nice - but very quiet!

I think Premier Inns are the best chain of "budget overnight hotels" in the UK and this one lived up to expectations. Would have been a 5 star if not for dark area it was situated in. Apparently this area is tipped for massive regeneration but the funding has been cut - what a shame!

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up to get good views over the river Humber / docks.

This is our fourth visit in two years and standards continue to be fully maintained. The rooms are large, adequately equipped and immaculately clean. The entire hotel is maintained to a high standard and so it is very obvious that it is well managed and has an excellent, motivated and caring Team. Welcome on arrival was warm and friendly and throughout our four day stay every member of Staff has greeted us with a smile. The 30 minutes free WiFi is an excellent addition to the 'package' and, for those requiring more time, £3 per 24 hours is a really great deal .The location is superb and the views pleasant. The proximity of the 'Museum Quarter' (Wilberforce House, Transport Museum, etc.) provides superb free interest and entertainment for all the Family and the nearby 'Old Town' is fascinating to explore. Well done one and all....we will return!!!.
