“can't beat a prem!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014 via mobile

Clean, comfortable accommodation. Plenty of space in the room for two adults and two kids.
In house bar was fine, breakfast up to the usual good standards.

What they lack in character they more than make up for in convenience, comfort and cost!

Avoid if you dislike purple.

I stay in Premier Inns all over the east of England with work, my husband and I visited this one to have a few days in Hull...fantastic the staff were friendly and pleasant and couldn't do enough for us a special mention for Kelsey our waitress for the 3 nights what a joy, she really seemed to enjoy her job and looked after us wonderfully well, pity the air conditioning broke BUT they came and bought us a fan and unlocked the window, the view over the Humber were fabulous, room was clean as always with Prem Inns, the food was fantastic...will definitely stay here again, 5 minute walk over the bridge and you were in the old part of Hull and near all the museums (which are all free!!!) and definitely worth a trip

What you expect from a premier inn is convenience, good quality and a good night's sleep. This one ticks all those boxes.

The entrance is the only slightly odd thing - you arrive into a really bare lobby and have to take the lifts upstairs. Once there you step into a proper hotel !

Staff are - as in all premier inns - really friendly and helpful. I checking in easily, and found my room easily. It was a nice room - basic but included a choice of soft and firm pillows, tea and coffee making facilities, and a large comfy bed. My only complaint is that wifi is not free.

The bar area is nice and I could see people enjoying meals. I had to leave the following morning before 6am so missed out on breakfast which starts at 6:30am (but as I was the only person leaving at that time 6:30am seems reasonable to start breakfast!)

I had a good nights sleep - and would stay in this travel lodge again if I was in Hull again.

Up to Hull for a friends 50 th birthday in the somewhat austere frame of the Premier Inn in Hull. The outside may look like it has been teleported from an anonymous Russian city. The welcome inside is great the staff were very welcoming and with a large group of mainly visually impaired people we were made to feel very welcome. I certainly would recommend a weekend in the city of Kingston upon Hull and this holiday inn us a great base.

We have just returned from a weekend staying at Hull City Centre Premier Inn. We had planned a visit with friends and our children to The Deep and this is a perfect location. Great basement car park and outdoor undercover parking too. 5 minute walk to the Deep and, crossing the bridge over the river, we were straight into the City Centre. Staff at the Premier Inn were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. This is the best Premier Inn we have stayed in and we will definitely return.

We stayed here for one night after a visit to 'The Deep,' The reception staff were all friendly, the room was slightly bigger than some Premier Inns we have stayed in.The fan was very useful as it was a warm day. The views were fantastic, both from our room and also the dining room. We took advantage of the £22.99 meal deal, the food was lovely, and all the staff we came into contact were very pleasant and helpful and no language difficulties at all. We never heard any noise from the nearby road. Would stay again, if in the area.

We did a round trip of the UK last month and stayed at mainly independent hotels but in some cities we just couldn't be bothered to research the best place and thought we'd do the Premier Inn. These really are hotels for the unimaginative and after 7 days on the road that was us.

The hotel is on top of a multi story car park which is odd but it does mean you get some interesting views. They go on about the beds but they are nothing special, add that to the constant noise from the A63 which is right next to the hotel and neither of us slept well. The rooms are also really bare and unimaginative, same type of rooms you get in Travelodge.

The best bit is the view, especially from the breakfast area looking towards the Deep. The breakfast is also okay, the ingredients are a bit cheap but you can have as much as you like, so you can pick and choose the best bits. Parking is good but the hotel it's a fair distance from the main part of the city centre if you are walking, 20min walk to St. Stephens.

Nearly forgot to mention the staff, they pleasant enough but most don't have very good English so it was hard to get understood.

If you've got children and you just want a basic hotel or you get a really good deal then this is okay but it's high rating on Tripadvisor is undeserved.

Room Tip: Get a high floor away from the A63 if possible
