“Stunned”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

I was so surprised at just how good this museum is - free entry too. A little bit of everything and is a brilliant chance to get close to the exhibits - they are not hidden behind glass or barriers like in other museums. A well maintained and superb attraction - a "must see."

“Museum quarters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

This museum is located in museum quarters. Complex of several museums which is located in old town right next to William Wilberforce Museum and Arctic Corsair trawler and Yorkshire Museum and Street Museum, therefore there is always plenty to do and see. The museums are great and the staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Great day out.

“Fantastic slice of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Based in the museum zone of the old town, this is a little treat. The ground floor is based around recreated old shops (original fittings saved from destruction) and trams. Upstairs is a carriage museum with the chance to take a "ride" in an 18th century mail coach.
This is a fun couple of hours. Ideal for the older generation to reminisce about our lost high streets and for the kids to marvel at how simple life was before modern technology took over.

“Nice little museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

The Museum quarter of Hull was a pleasant surprise on my first visit to the area. The Streetlife Museum in particular was facinating and there was much to see and do. I was pleased to find that you could go into/ sit in a number of the old carriages and there were rides and old game machines to go on. The staff were pleasant and friendly (a running theme throughout all the museums it seems) - one chap in particular (I didn't get the name of) who let us ride in the carriage and talked to us about it.
And best of all the museum was free. What's not to like!!
