We stayed the night on May Bank Holiday and had a meal in the pub as well. No need to worry about drink driving just stagger across the car park and you're at your room. We had the superior maisionette which was very spacious, clean and well worth the money. Complimentary continental breakfast included. Could have done with spoons to eat the cereal and yoghurt instead of using the teaspoon for everything but we managed. The meal was very good and the pub is attractive with a nice ambiance. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Went for tea with my husband and son aged 5, we were using our Taste Card for the 1st time and never using it before the staff members were very helpful. It was Tuesday night steak night but that menu wasn't available for taste card users which was not a problem as the full main menu was available to us (including steak which was slightly more expensive than the steak night menu). I ordered the 8oz steak, husband the burger and son a jacket potatoe. The food arrived in reasonable time and we were not dissapointed!! I will go as far as saying it was only of the best steaks I have in a long time, it was cooked perfectly and served with gorgeous home cooked chucky chips :) The taste card meant we got half price off our bill so even better!! But I would definatley go back and pay full price for all again, only small negative was lack of children's menu i.e drink and pudding included in the price of £4.95 other then that, excellent place to eat! Think we'll try Pie night next :)

For £40 a night for bed and breakfast, my wife and myself enjoyed great value for money in our recent 2 night stay at this hotel. We were also allowed to take our dog to the hotel, and there was no charge for him!

Use the hotel for the restaurant only as we live in Hull, always come here for a meal, especially on steak night, Tuesday, excellent value for money, great food, highly recommended, there is a varied menu, and we have never faulted it.

Came here for my boyfriends birthday with 4 of our friends, the service was bearable, as they was no smiles and the atmosphere was terrible, the food was awful, 2 of us asked for steak, 1 medium -rare and one medium. they were both rare-ish, I did ask for one of them to be put back in again but when it came back it was no different, the lasagne was gooey and just tasted like cheese, the burger was OK, the duck was OK, and the gammon was OK, we had a taste-card so it was half price anyway but if we didn't I would of complained but we just left it at that. would not be going here again.

Terrific value, clean spacious rooms and friendly staff. The complimentary continental breakfast was an unexpected bonus and was very welcome. We were travelling with another couple and had rooms next door to each other: the downstairs lounge area meant we could sit and have a drink together when we came back each evening. The location was very convenient too - we were up for a wedding in Hornsea. The food in the pub was also excellent and we would definitely recommend The Gardeners to anyone travelling up this way.
