Stayed here for two nights recently in room 104. There were things that could have been better, there were things that were good. I will discuss:
The bed ~ this was, as other writers have said, very firm. Personally I like a firm mattress and this suited me but I can understand that for many it would be considered uncomfortable.
The temperature in the room ~ for me it was too warm. There was a cooling unit on the wall which didn't work. I spoke to reception and to be honest did not understand the reasoning behind it not working...but suffice to say it didn't and I get the impression it was not just the one in my room, but rather the system in the hotel generally. I opened the window which helped although the opening was limited to a crack of a couple of inches (which seems to be commonplace these days). The downside of doing this was the street noise. With the window shut there was hardly any noise, but with it open the noise from the busy road filled the room.
The hairdryer ~ There was a hairdryer, but the plug socket and the mirror were not ideally placed for anyone wanting to style their hair.
The carpet ~ There were a couple of stains on the carpet. They seemed to have been cleaned, but the stains remained. Also the floor crackled!! As though there was plastic or something beneath it. Weird. It wasn't a problem...just weird! My final gripe, before I get onto the better stuff is that round the base of the bed (which was a static/built in affair) it was dusty. I get it that the hoover doesn't get that close to the bed, but surely a few flicks with a stiff brush would rectify this problem.

OK, on a lighter note the shower was excellent. The whole toilet/shower set up is in a type of 'pod'. The shower space is generous with two saloon style doors opening into it. The shower itself was easy to operate and had plenty of power behind it.
Breakfast ~ I enjoyed my breakfast on both mornings. There was a choice of cereals, brown or white bread to toast, plus crusty french sticks, croissants and muffins. Hot food consisted of sausages, bacon, tomatoes, beans and scrambled eggs. Alternatively there were yoghurts, cheese, meat and various spreads. All seemed to be good quality.
The hotel is well placed for town and transport links. The price was good. I would stay there again but would check on weather conditions/temperatures beforehand to ensure that temperatures in the hotel would be ambient.

Great hotel. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it. Has an IKEA feel to it when it comes to the decor of the room. However, it was clean, fast check-in and check-out. The staff was very friendly and accomodating and the food in the bar/restaurant was fine as well.

Only thing that is tricky is the parking. I think the hotel has a very small parking lot, which was full, so you have to park in a mall parking garage 2 blocks away. However, if you provide proof that you stayed at the Hotel Ibis, then you only have to pay the 5 pounds to exit rather than the mall price for overnight parking.
