We stayed at the Ibis in Hull on Saturday 8th March for one night. First impressions were very good,. We arrived and were checked in within 5 minutes. Our room was on the 1st floor and was a replica of the Ibis in Nottingham. Very clean, tea/coffee making facilities, and fab power shower. The bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint was that our room overlooked the car park and this is obviously where the staff 'smoke' and unfortunately the smell of smoke drifted into our room on the Sunday morning.
The hotel is situated within walking distance of the train station (where we parked the car at a cost of £4 per 24/ hours - very reasonable), and also on the door step of all shops and restaurants.
We will definitely stay here again. Don't expect 5* because you aren't paying 5* prices but for a cheap hotel it is brilliant. We didn't have breakfast but when leaving the hotel we could smell the cooking and our mouths began to water!

Value excellent and decent standard. Location handy for town centre and station. Discounted parking at shopping centre. Staff friendly and rooms although basic were surprisingly spacious. Bed a bit hard though and bathroom reminded me of a caravan bathroom. Didn't have breakfast and didn't use bar but good Wetherspoons round corner

I've stayed in lots of Ibis hotels so know the standard to expect and bed is always comfortable. If you need a room to sleep in for a night or two then Ibis is perfect.

The Hull hotel is fantastic due to it's staff and their attitude that nothing is too much. All exceptionally helpful, especially a member of the maintenance team.

Will be staying again soon.

Let's not beat around the bush, it is a basic, budget hotel with a pod en-suite (shower, no bath) and it's a bit shabby. Having said that, the ground floor was being refurbished, the room was clean, it was quiet and the front desk staff were super helpful and friendly. You get what you pay for and for £35/room, it was very good value. Note there are tea/coffee making things in the room but no hairdryer.

Although the hotel is a budget stay, you still expect the rooms and facilities to be clean. Unfortunately this wasn't the case.
The rooms are like something out of a caravan, a space pod for the bathroom and the bed consisted of something that looks like a put-you-up with a 2" mattress topper for comfort. Which the sheet didn't cover all of.
The staff were nice enough on duty but rowdy and crude, still in uniform off!
Breakfast was greasy and the eggs were packed with water.
Best thing about the morning were the coffee machine - great coffee!
The hotel is central to where we needed to be and provided what we needed for a business trip for 2 nights, if anyone was going for comfort and any longer I would highly advise finding somewhere else.

My wife booked this hotel as we were catching the next day ferry to Rotterdam/Amsterdam. I'm so glad that she did. The location is ideal from the Coach/Train station as it is only a 5 minute walk down the road.

The room was nice with a lovely bathroom and the bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was superb. Now most hotels we have stayed in seem to source their breakfast ingredients from somewhere cheap and cheerful but not this one. You can tell that the English breakfast was good quality food and I have to say it was all top class food. There was also a good selection of cereals and yoghurts as well.

Finally, a big thank you to Lisa for being so helpful with information regarding our trip and for being so nice and friendly. She is a credit to Ibis. Also a big thank you to the manager Phil for letting us check out late so that we didn't have to drag our suitcase everywhere before catching the bus to the ferry port.

So if you are catching the ferry or just visiting Hulll for anything else, this is a great place to stay. We will certainly be staying here again if we go to Hull again.

First of all I should say that the staff were very nice and the hotel was clean and tidy but that's I'm afraid where it ended.

The rooms are clearly designed by the same people who design caravans and that's exactly what it looked like, filled with cheap plastic and a paint job in terracotta and hearing aid beige. The shower was a pre-fab unit stuck in the corner with a shower that I remember my gran had in the 80s. The window curtain was stiff and looked like it was made of some kind of plastic.

The TV had about 3 channels in English and with no EPG it was impossible to navigate. The lift looked like it had a Buck Rogers theme but it was completely out of place for the rest of the hotel.

The beds were like camp beds and one of those two beds stuck together to look like a Double! I hate that and especially when the sheets are half the size too. At least buy some double covers if you're going to make it a Double.

And the bath towel cut in half really made me laugh, you gave me two. Why not just give me one big one?

The Ibis chain (in my opinion) need to look closely at this hotel and either ditch it, give it a facelift or take it back to it's natural home on the seafront at Blackpool.

Other than the great staff, would certainly not stay here again unless the other City offerings were full!
