the Ibis is a 'job lot' hotel chain really - Nothing special, but serves a purpose. And at £29.45 a night, you get what you pay for and the deal was really cheap. The room was/is just okay.
The beds were comfortable and the room was clean - but the 'pod-like' shower and toilets in each room are tiny. Room air-con didn't work - (Room 308) and it's the type of room that makes you want to get out and see the town. (Which isn't a bad thing) But good enough to get your head down. Good range of TV channels UK and foreign If you have time to kill.
Checked out early (5.30am) as the room was too hot to sleep in, and to beat morning grid-lock on M62. Night porter was really helpful on checkout - more than the day receptionist, who was slightly more interested in what was on the TV in the dining room than booking guests in.
