“Superb Wedding Day Venue”
Reviewed 15 May 2014 via mobile

We looked at many wedding venues in Hull and Gary at The Kingston Theatre Hotel was by far the most helpful in assisting is with our daughters wedding day. Months of planning and last week the day was fantastic. Gary and the staff were so helpful. The meals, the atmosphere, the rooms, the evening was brilliant. Thank you Kingston. Faultless and well recommended

Nice big, clean comfy bed. Bathroom generally clean but my relaxing bath was marred by the view of the disgusting toilet rim!
Disturbed by guests coming in late, think they had been to the wedding in the function room.
Staff polite and helpful, breakfast lovely.
Ordered chilled wine on arrival, it wasn't in the room and they didn't send it as we checked in so I had to call reception for it spoiling the surprise for my hubby. When it arrived it was a bottle of 2013 Pinot Griot, hardly worth £16, take your own if your in a suite as there is a fridge in the room.

My three friends and I arrived with some misgivings. We had booked four singles for one night at a very reasonable rate. The reception area soon allayed our concerns. This is a proper hotel - with professional staff and excellent facilities. Our pedal cycles were secured immediately and my single room was large and airy with everything one could ask for. The en-suite shower room was not huge but functional. A wedding was taking place, so was a large birthday party and another small group but we were able to take evening meal in the Restaurant without problem. Also there was little noise to spoil an excellent nights sleep. Breakfast (included in the price) was also excellent. SO for a 3 star city center hotel The Kingston was remarkable value for money.

My wife and I stayed one night while I was attending a conference at the University. The receptionist was especially friendly and helpful, printing off papers from my flash drive and arranging for our luggage to be stored while I was at the conference. The room was superb with the biggest bed I have seen and with cushions and a comfortable sofa, 'though a small fridge would have been helpful. The only thing stopping it from getting the fifth point was the tinned tomatoes served at breakfast, which in all other respects was excellent. Why?

We stayed here last weekend as a try out ready for our friends wedding in June. On arrival the hotel gave us room 19 ! Omg it was at the back end of the hotel through dingy corridors ! The room was so dated it was unreal! There was no shower , the toilet seat was hanging off, no glasses for a drink of water or to swill your teeth with, the chair leg in the room was broke. All this is basic and I mean basic stuff that should be provided.
The bar prices where really expensive nearly £8 for a pint of lager and a large coke !!! Just pop around the corner to the pub which was £3 cheaper.
Breakfast was ok!
Evening meal was expensive but delicious.
Staff we,re extremely hardworking and very friendly with exception of the miserable man at night who was eager to go to bed and he certainly made it aware!
Our room for June has been upgraded so watch this space!

Room Tip: Ask not to give u room 19
