I've been here a few times, it's a nice bar but with a couple of issues that hold it back from being awesome.
It has a great location on princes dock for starting a night out, or before/ after visiting Vue or going for a meal with it being handy for marina, old and new town.
It's got a great decor and ambiance, and seems to attract a mixed but laid back crowd that make for a pleasant environment.
The range of craft beers and ciders is great, but if you don't fancy those they also have a good selection of quality spirits (though these are maybe a little pricey compared to other bars) - and even when busy I've never waited long to be served; however...
A couple of the bar staff have a really poor attitude - the blond tattooed guy and dark haired girl are great; friendly, welcoming and happy to offer suggestions for your drinks - but two of the guys particularly never smile, barely acknowledge customers even when serving them, and almost seem to resent being there. It's kind of weird to see.
And the food tastes good - but I've never bought a burger anywhere else for £7.50 that didn't come with fries. Let alone one where the burger was small and bun was edging on stale. Again odd given how much competition there is in the area for places to eat.
So for me, a nice spot to meet friends or get a drink before going to the cinema, but I wouldn't go there for food as a first choice of venue, and some of the staff could do with an attitude adjustment.
I hope it continues to thrive though, it's a nice and different venue to compliment hulls social life.
