“AMAZING in every way!”

My parents flew over to the UK from NY to spend spring break with my husband and I and our two tween age daughters. We cannot express how amazing our holiday was for all involved. The homestead itself is immaculate. The yard is beautiful and the views outstanding. We were greeted with an unexpected hamper full of wine, bread, desserts, jam, and even a dozen eggs, juice and butter in the fridge! All of our rooms were so comfortable. We honestly did not want to leave. We chose this rental because we wanted a nice accommodation for a party of six with a dog and we're not disappointed. I happily and highly recommend Glassonby Hall.
We will definitely book another holiday here when time and schedules allow.

Liked best: Fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds.
Liked least: Trash was not picked up because it was bank holiday so the bins were overflowing when we arrived. Hopefully the staff will arrange for the trash to be taken to the skip whenever bank holiday prevents trash collection.

The title says it all as far as I'm concerned but apparently I have to write 100 characters.

You know when you book something online and when you get there you find it is not as good as you expected?

Well this place is the opposite. Absolutely nothing amiss. Beautifully reconstructed with best quality materials and fittings, bags of character, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Stayed as one of four couples, we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return.

Took advantage of one of Jilly's meals one evening - also excellent.

“Fantastic weekend break!”

We stayed at Glassonby Old Hall in October for a friends 30th birthday and we could not have had a more perfect stay. The hall itself is absolutely stunning - very tastefully restored and lots of luxurious touches that show a lot of care and attention went into the restoration. The kitchen (often a room let down in holiday lets) was fantastic - lots of appliances, utensils and a massive fridge-freezer which was very useful for a large group, and an aga and regular double oven for those of us not used to aga cooking! It also housed a very well stocked welcome hamper, with lots of useful bits and bobs! Bedrooms and bathrooms are also lovely, and the sheer amount of bathrooms meant each couple could have their own.

The location is also perfect - lots of nice walks on the doorstep aswell as close proximity into the Lakes. We went in to the Lakes every day and didnt mind the journey at all.

All in all a very enjoyable stay, especially for Meg (our labrador) who loved the garden and fireplaces best of all! Thank you so much!

“Rose coloured sandstone sensitively restored”
Reviewed 12 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Most suitable for an extended family get together. Very well equipped and arranged. The restoration of these traditional farm buildings has been sensitively done with modern versions of older details (such as wooden internal shutters) doing the job for which they were intended.
There is even a lair for an ogre in the bathroom (it could be an old well of course!). Long Meg is quite close and a working water mill producing flour for good cakes, not far away too.
