This was my first stay at Elterwater Park and I hope it to be the first of many. From arriving until leaving I was made to feel very welcome.

Lesley and Neil are a genuinely caring and friendly couple. My room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view towards Elter Water. The atmosphere in the guesthouse was calm and peaceful aided by its location in a stunning part of the Lake District. As a solo traveller I was also happy that the single supplement was a sensible one.

The best recommendation I can make is that I would, and will, happily stay there again.

We were attracted by the website, particularly the swimming pool nearby and evening meals. We were welcomed with a pot of tea and piece of cake. We could smell evening meal but this didn't appear to be an option. We had to drive off in dark and found a pub some 10 mins away, for dinner. A time slot had to be booked for breakfast due to the guest house being very busy, Unfortunately the springs could be felt through the mattress in our room no.3, and we had to pad with the quilted bed cover over the 2 nights, The guest house is in a lovely setting, had a cosy sitting room to share with other guests, and lovely views. good breakfast.

Room Tip: After the first night the owners were aware we had had to pad mattress but no comment was made about...

We are very sorry that your stay at Elterwater Park was not as pleasant experience as you had hoped for. It is very important to us that all who stay enjoy comfort and hospitality. We value your comments and are always looking to improve the standard of the service we offer.
We would however like to respond to one or two of your comments.
With regards to the matress, we would have given you another room if were had been made aware just how uncomfortable it was for your husband. Finding the matress covered did not alert us to just how much distress this had caused. We are replacing that matress now and do monitor all matresses (that one had not been brought to our attention)
With regards to the evening meal not being available to you. It states very clearly on our web site that meals must be ordered in advance as we do not have the facilities or staff to operate as a restaurant.

We stayed for four nights in September on the recommendation of friends who had previously stayed at Elterwater Park. Lesley and Neil were so welcoming and friendly. They provided great information on walks direct from the door and the amenities in the local area. The setting is so peaceful you couldn't help but relax.
We stayed in a room located outside the main house which was ideal. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the eggs which come from the resident hens.
It was a great stay in a wonderful part of the country and we definitely hope to return in the future.

We were part of a large party, and Neil and Lesley made us all very welcome, catering enthusiastically for any request. We found the lounge perfect for our evening get-togethers, made particularly cosy and warm with the log burner. For our first night we had asked in advance for an evening meal, and were delighted with the feast of chicken curry and beef dishes as well as the delicious puddings they laid on in the beautifully atmospheric 'Muddy Boots Barn', complete with 'pub-style snug' bench seating and fairy light decoration. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated, with modern, stylish bathrooms (some with underfloor heating!), and the breakfasts set us up for the day's walking. On rainy days, you can use their drying room for your boots etc. We would recommend Elterwater Park to anyone who appreciates great hospitality!

Room Tip: Room 4 had a good view to the front of the property from the bedroom, and a lovely view to the hills...

elterwater park Country guest house is one of the few places that really deserve excellent Ratings. neil and lesley are genuinely friendly, enthusiastic hosts.
the Location is just wonderful - the cumbria way passes right in front of your bedroom - and there are so many beautiful places to explore on foot.

We stayed for one night, following attending a friends wedding. Our room was the grain store, which had a beautiful view of the hills and a little patio area to sit on. The room was bright spacious and clean. The hosts were attentive and friendly and the breakfast was wonderful. The chickens were in abundance and very curious. Would recommend and definitely stay again. A great retreat.

Room Tip: A great retreat and definitely ask for this room.

We had a very enjoyable mini break at Elterwater Park. Neil and Leslie made us very welcome and comfortable, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully appointed and warm. We enjoyed the company of fellow guests at dinner, who were obviously enjoying their stay as much as we were. Thank you Neil and Lesley, we will return to Elterwater Park.
