Returned yesterday from a 3 night stay at elterwater park, what an absolutely fantastic place, difficult to know where to begin.
First impression - excellent, we were greeted with a seat in the garden with lovely home made cake, tea and coffee.

Location - beautiful, a lovely area in the langdales, secluded and peaceful, with the cumbria way passing through the guest house, a lot of walkers showing interest in staying there.

Rooms - gorgeous, we had room 6 the byre. It is one of the converted barns, with a separate lounge area, a porch, and a very comfortable double room with an on suite shower room with lovely hot water, and, toiletries provided. There was also a tv with some satellite channels, a dvd player with a selection of films, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits provided. We were also given use of an iron and ironing board for our stay.

Food - fantastic breakfasts, cooked english, specials board, cereals, yogurts, and, fresh fruit including strawberries, blueberries, melon, yummy. We dined there on our first night, and, had an exquisite 3 course meal with a very reasonable bottle of wine - it was simply gorgeous.

Hosts - saving the best till last. Wonderful, wonderful people! Neil and Lesley are so welcoming, couldn't do enough for us, drying out and waterproofing wet boots, supplying us with everything we asked for. We don't drive, they provide a very cheap service, even when it was Neils birthday he gave us a lift into Ambleside on our last evening, then drove back home to pick up Lesley and go out for his birthday meal!!

All in all a lovely stay, have taken some information home to pass on to friends that love the lake district, and, wish much success to Neil and Lesley in the future, would we stay again most definately!!

Room Tip: The byre is good for the separate lounge area, and, you can take dogs in the barn rooms

What a pleasure it was to stumble on this lovely guest house. Leslie and Neil are great hosts and lovely people. I was made to feel like I was staying in a home from home and the time I spent here allowed me to switch off from the world and truly relax. The quaint farm house feel and great location add to the whole experience and it is possible to step straight onto the Cumbria way. Loughrigg and Grasmere are walkable and Coniston and Ambleside are a short drive away. The real highlight for me was the secluded setting, the peace and quiet (very hard to find in the Lakes during peak season!) I will be back again next year. Highly recommended

We had a fantastic stay at this guesthouse. The owners Neil and Lesley couldn't do enough for our small party. The view from the bedroom (Little Loughrigg) was wonderful. Spotless room, with everything you could possibly need. The official photos we've seen don't do this guesthouse justice. On arrival we were greeted by happy hens and cockerel at the door. Our hosts led us to the very pretty garden and gave us drinks and delicious home made cake. The Cumbrian Way footpath is just feet from the garden, so we had fabulous walks.( and laughs, courtesy of the very silly Herdwick sheep running amok down the lane). We had a two course evening meal which was exquisite. We will have to tell everyone about this place, we have never stayed anywhere that was better

We stayed for 2 nights at Elterwater Park Country Guest House. The welcome we received from Neil & Lesley was wonderful. The standard of the B&B was very high & each room was beautifully decorated. We stayed in Lingmore Fell which was a nice big room with a lovely bathroom with a view of the Langdale Pikes from the window! The garden was peaceful with breath taking views of the Lakeland fells & was the perfect place to relax in the evening after a day spent walking. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food. Loved the locally sourced sausages!! The B&B is ideally situated for Ambleside & Coniston & walks in the Langdale Valley. Would we return again.......definitely!! Don't suppose the weather will be as glorious next time!!!

This was our first time to the lakes and had an amazing time. The rooms were clean and homely with amazing views.

The location was ideal with Conniston and Windermere just round the corner.

Would highly recommend to anyone and very much looking forward to visiting next time!

Lesley and Neil are the perfect hosts providing an excellent dinner on Saturday evening and well cooked breakfasts with eggs from the friendly hens. We were all looked after very well for the weekend.

Elterwater Park is one of the best B&B's in the Lakes. Situated on the Cumbrian Way. Super accommodation and superb breakfasts. Neil and Leslie are the perfect hosts. We have stayed a number of times and will be staying many times more. Highly recommended.
