Nice B&B in the centre of Ambleside, very convenient for accessing the shops and restaurants and car parking is provided.

It's a big old house which is kept spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable, linen and towels etc are good quality. The house is on the main street but high above it, we didn't hear any noise from the streets even over the weekend.
The breakfast was very good, lots of options for cold or hot and Simon and Sandra can't do enough for you. They have lots of tips for places to go and to walk [and avoid the crowds].
Nice spot and comfortable, welcoming surroundings and hosts. Recommended.

We stayed one night with our two young children (2 and 3 years old) midweek in a room on the top floor for a family and were quite pleased. The proprietors were friendly and able to address any questions about the area that we had, including parking options. After an adventure of backing the car uphill to a parking space that was available to us, we settled in quickly before heading out on a wonderful walkabout in the immediate vicinity, including a playground, Roman fort remains and lake, all within 0.7 mile. Breakfast was delicious with a number of tempting options. My wife and I both went with the smoked haddock, which was nicely complemented by poached eggs. Our wee ones were quite happy with scrambled eggs and toast to accompany the variety of cereals, yogurt and fruit. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Excellent guest house high above Lake Road. Clean and comfortable with first class breakfast.
We were a family of four - great family room. Hosts were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable.
Although parking can be a slight challenge - successfully doing it does give a sense of achievement! Plenty of easier nearby alternatives though.
Would highly recommend and would certainly stay there again

Myself and three of my friends stayed two nights over the Easter break recently. Although I have been to Ambleside before, I had not stayed at a B&B and was not sure what to expect. I would definitely stay here again.

We booked two executive rooms and were very pleased with the spacious rooms, the neat bathroom, tasteful decor, tea and coffee facilities, and the beautiful view of the rooftops and surrounding mountainside. The beds were super comfy and you're sure to have a great night's rest after walking around the Lakes.

Although you cannot have much of a lie-in (break served from 8-9), it did get us out and about early so that was fine. The breakfast itself is well prepared and very tasty. I had the poached eggs on the first day and the full English on the second - both were hearty and delicious. In addition, there was plenty of toast, cereal, fruit, juices, tea/ coffee to keep you going for the rest of the morning. The cream eggs in the napkins on Easter Sunday were an especially nice touch I thought.

Our hosts were very welcoming, ready to help with directions and recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We tried Zeffirelli, the vegetarian restaurant and the Thai opposite that - both were great with two courses at £15-20. Simon was also especially helpful with directions and the parking (the latter is tricky and could burn out your clutch so just be prepared to ask for help or an alternative!).

On the whole a great Easter break at Kent House, thanks.

We have stayed in Ambleside many times before but don't know how we have missed Kent House. It is perfectly situated in the Town Centre but raised above the main street. The perfect weather we were lucky enough to enjoy allowed us to end the day sitting out with a bottle of wine in the little patio area overlooking Lake road. Simon is a very welcoming host, ready with any 'local knowledge' needed to improve your stay. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and we could not fault the choice and quality of the breakfast.
Simon is very laid back and accomodating and was not in the least bit phased when we 'misplaced' our room key in an inaccessible cubbyhole in our car! We were supplied with a spare immediately and I am glad to say our local garage managed to retrieve the key which is now on its way home!

We enjoyed a lovely four night break in the heart of Ambleside. Simon and Sandra were very welcoming hosts and achieved the perfect balance of attentiveness without being over the top. Our dogs enjoyed their stay too. We hope to come back soon! Thank you! :)

We booked into Kent House for the weekend as a last minute getaway and couldn't fault it. the B&B is right in the centre of Ambleside, convinient for shops, bars and points of interest. Simon was on hand to greet us on arrival, asked the reason for our stay and gave some great local knowledge which setup our weekend perfectly.

The room was really clean and comfortable, free parking was readily available, and the quality of the breakfast was excellent, all though slightly early for those of us who preferred a lie in on the first morning.

It was our first trip to Ambleside, we'll definitely be back and won't look anywhere else for somewhere to stay.
