An absolutely fantastic place to stay.....close to everything yet far enough away to enjoy the natural beauty of the lakes.
We stayed to celebrate my birthday so was very much a party type of weekend and this house was perfect. Very large with plenty of rooms for entertaining. The house felt like we were at home and everyone was able to relax. The standards of the place were good with not a single criticism from my friends. Would love to come and stay here in the summer as the garden setup is also great.
From start to finnish the booking and weekend was fantastic and would recommend this for a large group or family.
I booked this property for a family joint birthday gathering over three nights in October 2016. The owner was really helpful and supportive when trying to arrange and made process easier. The venue is fantastic right next to an adventure fun park Brockhole on Windermere just outside of Ambleside.
We were a family of 14 with children from 1yr to 13 yrs and there was plenty of space for all of us and everyone without exception loved it. As always the kitchen became a focal point but the big dining room next door felt spacious and catered for us all at dinner with plenty of room to spare.
We took advantage on one of out days of the free access to the spa and swimming pool which on a rainy afternoon was a great distraction. We used the nearby steamer to explore Wray Castle which didn't disappoint and gave all the children and adults a great afternoon.
All in all this was a weekend to remember and I would recommend to anyone with a big party as it feels cosy at the same time as being big enough to get lost in if you need to escape for a quiet read.
10 of us stayed in Ecclerigg Garth 1st weekend in September for a girly family get together for my mums 70th, the house was amazing and everyone staying was very impressed with the high spec of the house. The dining room table was great for our big family meal and a few games, the kitchen had everything you needed and was very sociable especially at breakfast as there was a big central breakfast bar with high stools to sit round and enjoy a blether while we pottered and ate. The bedrooms were all lovley especially the master with an amazing en suite my only suggestion would be that maybe there should be a twin room rather than all double beds. The other bathrooms were great with 2 jacuzzi baths in the house for an extra treat. The living room was huge awesome views and great for socialising and a few party games. The outside space was lovley with a large table everyone could sit round in the sunshine with a prosecco and next door was brockhole visitors centre with a stop for the windermere boat cruise hitch was handy and saved worrying about parking when visiting Ambleside and Windermere.
I would recommend Ecclerigg Garth and would go back again with pleasure.
