“Believe the Hype!”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

Believe everything you read and see about the faultless Randy Pike! I booked two nights here as a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday and had spent the months leading up to our stay anticipating whether it could really be as fab as the reviews say.....it absolutely is! And more!
From the big, important stuff like the wonderfully warm welcome, the gorgeous views and the totally relaxing ambience (thanks, in part, to the eclectic selection of music on the iPod) to the smallest, beautiful details like the Neom candles, sweet teaspoons and fresh flowers, the Randy Pike is fabulous on every level.
We felt totally pampered (the nickel bath in the Dawson suite - wow!) and cannot wait to return. You will love the Randy Pike.

Stayed here for 2 nights and we were very impressed. The room was amazing and the breakfasts are made to order - delicious! Fantastic setting with easy access to other areas of the lake. Do try their own restaurant as the food is great.

We will be going back soon to try other room!

Just had the most amazingly fab weekend at Randy Pike. Everything about this place is awesome...the breakfast, the room, the bath (what a bath!), the four legged friends (too cute!), the setting and last but by no means least the hosts - what a genuinely lovely family. This is up there as one of the best places we have stayed both in the UK and abroad. Thanks guys for a lovely weekend....it was so nice we have already booked for this summer and my mums 70th next year! :-)

A peaceful retreat, a beautiful haven, the perfect place to spend a few days of R&R. The vallelay suite was a vibrant mix of funky decor, the most comfy bed I have ever slept in and a bathroom with a freestanding bath which went perfectly with a glass of prosecco. The breakfast was served direct to our suite at a time of our choosing and was delicious. The breakfast trifle was scrummy! the room came complete with little extras such as cookies on arrival, complimentary drinks and pillow mist! The lovely Chrissy kindly gave us a lift to their restaurant the jumble room where we had a yummy meal on the Friday night. I can't wait to go back!!

We stayed for two nights in November 2013 (just updating TA with several hotel stays) and cannot wait to return!! It is really hard to describe this place - not a hotel and doesn't feel like a B&B - it feels so homely, luxurious, secluded and yet nearby to get to many places. Andy and Chrissy have got it spot on.

We had tried to book the RP several times and couldn't get a booking (too busy!) so this time I gave plenty of notice and was so excited to be able to make a booking! The room was amazing - so uniquely decorated and the beds are so comfortable.....had the best sleep in years! The bathroom was the size of a football pitch - we had the one with the freestanding copper bath with huge walk-in shower. Just perfect after some good walks to the top of nearby Old Man of Coniston. We ate in the Jumble Rooms - we were given a lift by Chrissy and had some wonderful food and drink. Great place - would definitely go!

Really hard to explain what a find this place is - cant wait to return!......and I haven't even mentioned the breakfast - WOW!

Room Tip: You will not disappointed with any of the rooms - all stunning!

Just come back from a one night stay at the randy pike and what can I say .... It was absolutely fantastic !! We stayed in the martindale and it was fabulously furnished and the bed was so comfy I did not want to leave . There are also lots of little extra's such as complimentary drinks , chocolates, pillow mist and even GHD's for your hair !! The breakfast was scrumptious with freshly baked muffins . We also ate in the jumble room very relaxed environment and fabulous food!! All in all more than well worth a visits ... Will def be back !!

Andy, Chrissy & Marley the terrier are warm & welcome hosts and all the crew friendly and accommodating. The rooms are elegant but a fabulous quirky and a lovely base to explore the area. The breakfast is as delish as everyone says. Would thoroughly recommend Randy Pike.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Randy Pike is our home on the outskirts of Ambleside in the heart of the English Lake District. Once a Gentleman’s Hunting lodge on the Wray castle Estate we have just recently returned it to its former glory... Randy Pike is Lakeland's sexiest new bed and breakfast, and yet B and B is it truly in its very simplest form, the suites are large and luxurious that have kept the character and feeling of that iconic neo-gothic era and yet marry perfectly with the all the modern facilities you'd expect with Vi-sprung beds, cloaked in the very best frette line and plump crisp pillows, there's a flat screen tv, i-pod dock, tea and fresh coffee. The Showers are the size of a small country, warm, funky and sexy... there's truly nothing out there like them. Andy and Chrissy Hill ... more   less
