Stayed at Waterhead for two nights to celebrate 10 years of marriage. The staff are really welcoming and the rooms are very smart. Only slight complaint was how hot the whole place was (surprisingly mild October) but once we had figured out how to turn off the underfloor heating (don't put the room key in the slot just inside the door) it was more bearable. Use of the pool and Spa down the road at Low Wood Bay is nice touch and breakfasts are the best I've had in a while. Top marks to the Waterhead Hotel and advanced warning to the staff that next time we will be bringing the kids!!

Staff really friendly
Our room overlooking the garden with a balcony is excellent
We ate in the restaurant and the food was really good

We arrived in sunshine and took a nice walk along the river to Ambleside. So pretty. The rooms are spacious with plenty of room to spread out. Our room had a huge window overlooking the lake. It was perfect. The bath was deep and comfortable. After walking miles it was lovely to have a nice soak. The bed was a little solid but not too bad. We slept but not sure if that was the wine that helped. The food is delicious. We ate in the hotel last night it was well worth doing. Breakfast was lovely with excellent service all around.

Room Tip: Ask for more bath salts as they don't automatically top you up but are very gracious if you ask.

Perfection again on this visit, the rooms ,staff and the food could not be bettered. This was our third visit this year, and this visit was a treat for our golden wedding by our friends who accompanied us. I know they where just as pleased as us with this hotel and they will be returning.

Room Tip: Rooms 4 & 5 are excellent

We visted this hotel and ate lunch and afternoon tea there. The hotel has the most glorious views from its garden and bar across Windermere, although there is a busy road in between. This did not interfere with our enjoyment of the scenery. The hotel itself is modern inside a traditional building. Very clean toilets. The service was excellent. Friendly, efficient and prompt. The food was average. My partner ordered steak, which was inedible. However, on pointing this out to the waitress, she apologized and very promptly offered a free afternoon tea. We did not stay at this hotel, so cannot comment on the rooms. There is limited parking at the rear. I would return for the views alone.

We found a great deal at the Watershead for two days, our room was gorgeous, clean and spacious and most of all they allowed our dog Teddy to stay and supplied us with a comfy basket for him . We had eaten at the Watershead before we stayed there and was not dissapointed. The Breakfast is yummy, lots of choices, we ate in the bar in the evening as we did'nt want to leave our dog in the room, but we did'nt mind as the bar area is very nice and comfortable. food is delicious, especially the fish and chips which was yummy. Also the staff are very friendly especially Daniel who helped us with our luggage, as we were on the top floor. would definately reccommend to friends and family and our looking forward to another trip in October as they have more great deals.
