We have stayed here a few times now and cannot praise Riverside highly enough. From the warm welcome by Brenda and Dave to the beautiful house, wonderful breakfast and immaculate bedrooms Riverside can't be Bettered. The attention to detail never faulters and the use of local toiletries and food makes the whole experience special. We can't wait to return.

I cannot recommend this wonderful B&B enough! Brenda and Dave are the perfect hosts- they have a wealth of knowledge about local walks, -numerous walking maps and local information available to borrow. Riverside is in a beautiful peaceful location yet only a short walk into Ambleside (about 10 minutes). The full English breakfast is the best we've ever had in any hotel or B&B- fantastic ingredients sourced locally- even the muesli is really special! Also choice of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Home made bread also- yummy! The rooms are really beautifully decorated, and really spacious -there's a four poster in one of the rooms. We have been several times now and will continue to do so- wouldn't stay anywhere else! Ambleside is also a great place to visit with lots of great restaurants- our favourites are Zefferelis and Fellinis (vegetarian - even though we're not veggies!!)

Room Tip: All rooms are great -some with a bath some with a shower Four poster also available

This is the fourth or fifth time we have stayed at Riverside. Every time has been the most wonderful experience, including the location, the rooms, the breakfast, but most importantly the hosts - Brenda and Dave now feel more like friends than hosts, and go out of their way to provide the friendliest, extra-special experience. Thank you both, I cannot recommend Riverside enough.

Dave and Brenda. What can we say? You have the most fantastic home that you share with us all. You are kind attentive to detail and cook a mean breakfast. Thank you from all of us for a fantastic weekend. Everythign is top notch, the location, the rooms, the food, the company, the hosts. I cannot recommend the Riverside enough.

Room Tip: All the rooms a great, 2 have baths, one has a four poster and spa bath, the rest have power showers...

This was our 2nd visit to Riverside and everything was perfect from the moment of our warm welcome on arrival to our goodbyes on departure; we could not have been looked after better. This place is a haven for a relaxing break, beautiful accomodation, lovely quiet location and all just a stroll away from Ambleside town centre with its many eating places. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice and produce from local sources; the speciality breads are a treat!. Thank you Dave & Brenda again for your tips on local walks, coffee stops and the local pub to recharge our batteries. Will definately be back soon.

We stayed for 3 weekdays. The room was lovely and spotless. The shower was powerful and the spa bath large enough for 2 :-) breakfast was great. I wish I tried the salmon and scrambled eggs but the full English was so good. There are lots of other things that make it a great stay. Dave went out his way to help us organise our holiday and provided information on local walks and attractions. The log fire in the living room is great and they have local beers and wines to enjoy in front of the fire. Another great thing they do is keep a binder with example menus from all the local restaurants and another with reviews from previous guests which helps you choose your evening meal. We had 3 great meals in Ambleside and I think the reviews helped. Overall a great stay and I would strongly recommend. Only thing I would point out is it is a dark walk back through the park in the winter evenings. Wouldn't be a problem in summer obviously and you could easily get a taxi if you were uncomfortable.

We have just returned today from our 11th annual perfect weekend with friends, the warm welcome from Dave ,Brenda and the log fire was a great start to a cold and frosty weekend. Our stay has always been faultless, and breakfasts are amazing. One of the best ways to describe the Riverside is we feel like we are coming home.

Room Tip: Can recommend all rooms.
