“Great breakfast”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

We saw from reviews that this was the best breakfast in Ambleside and we were not disappointed. You can choose from 10 different items for your full English and we had a cafetierre of coffee to go with it. The food was lovely with nice toast and the service was very quick. There were magazines to read while you waited and some lovely pictures on the wall to look at.

Would love to go back

“Excellent lunch”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We were lucky enough to get a table for lunch in this café and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of it. The cauliflower cheese soup was lovely and was a very generous large bowl full. Other food we had included toasties and the special of toast with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. There was lots of choice on the menu - something to suit everyone and everything was reasonably priced. Would definitely look forward to a visit if we were in the area again.

Rob B, Owner at Daisys Cafe, responded to this review, 19 August 2014
Hi all.
I want to say a HUGE thank you from myself Rob, Kate, Clive and Dorothy for 5 amazing years owning Daisy’s Café. We officially left on the 20th July, placed 5th best café/ Restaurant in Ambleside and gaining a 5 star food hygiene certificate within a year of trading (2 star rating from previous owners). Thank you to all our regular customers, local A-siders and to all our customers from all corners of the globe.

We have met so many like-minded people from rock climbers, mountain bikers, weekend ramblers to carrot cake lovers, it’s been an adventure and we will miss it.
Here’s to the new owners and good luck to them, we are now going to retire, put our feet up, and enjoy the fells.

“Family fresh baking ..go soon, saviour...and return often.”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Daisy's is a fantastic spot for a breakfast of any size or combination or a coffee and cake. Take a seat and prepare for you taste buds to spring back into life...
Outside the kerb appeal isn't a wow but rest assured it hits all the high notes on your palate and the vibe inside is a cool outdoorsy type, all ages, all passions, all in the know about the delicious home cooking.
Our meal..The toast, fresh cut whole meal chunky bread, beans and fried egg was exactly what we wished for, and we sneaked a cheeky scone to share which was melt in the mouth.
It's a find..a hidden gem...and it's down side according to Holdworth's books lady, (where we headed to buy a funky map we had seen in Daisy's ).. was it wasn't open enough.
Apparently the owners, a family two generations of bakers and cooks...liked to see the beauty of the outdoors now and again. I respect them even more...go soon and saviour.
