The hotel is now under new management. It was first class, within a nice quiet area.
The food was astounding and first class. Top marks to all the staff who and very friendly and help with any information you might need.
It was the first time I had stayed here and it wont be the last.

It would appear that regular visitors become the in -crowd while unknown guests are ignored. Not once during our 3 night stay did the management make any attempt to be friendly or even acknowledge our presence-maybe because we didn't have a dog in tow!
Starters and main courses were excellent but puddings not of the same standard.
Rooms need updating.
Over priced.

Stayed at this hotel over New Year. Food excellent - wine excellent but perhaps a bit pricey. New Year was a special package and the staff and management were excellent in the way they looked after all the guests. The area around the hotel is well known to me and we had a brilliant walk on New Years Eve which could have been better if it hadn't been tanking it down with rain ( that's the Lake District for you).
