“Wedding Anniversary Weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

This was our first stay at The Langdale Hotel & Spa, a special occasion for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The reception staff made us feel most welcomed, and Our Signature Room was beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. Small touches such as quality bedding, a decent sized bed, and bath robes make a difference. All the staff, whether in the Leisure Pool, Reception, or dining and bar areas were spot on with customer service, and were pleasant and efficient.
The Cumbrian breakfast was excellent with a good choice and quality ingredients. We had an excellent meal in Hobsons Bar, with a nice touch of 'taster' plates; and food and drink in all the in-house establishments were competitively priced for the quality.
Hopefully we will return.

This is our 5th stay at Langdale. We stayed for 1 night in a signature room and the 2nd was in Brimstone.
Staff were very friendly, we arrived early but they checked us is and we went for a drink and lunch in the sun at the Terrace. As soon as we arrived we felt relaxed. The signature room was beautiful as always and the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and in good access to the main site. The bathroom was showing early signs of becoming tired, there was a split in the side of the bath and it wasn't as clean as the bedroom, although it was nothing to complain about. The spa bath worked very well and was lovely and relaxing.
We used the spa facilities and this was very enjoyable, it became quite busy (approx 5pm) and there were no towels available for the sauna the whole time we were there. However the atmosphere is very relaxing, the jacuzzi as always was very warm (sometimes too warm for me!) Changing rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. it's worth taking £1 for the lockers as the provided tokens don't always work!
We ate at Wainwrights (a pub just up the road) make sure you take a good torch if you plan on eating here! The walk isn't far but it's very dark and on a road with no paths!
We had a comfortable night sleep and the black out curtains are amazing!
We ate breakfast in Purdy's, we were seated in a bit of a thoroughfare and it felt a little frantic with staff and guests going backwards and forwards. The food as always was very good and enjoyable.
We were told we could stay in our room until check in time for Brimstone (3pm) we decided to pop out but our luggage was moved across by the time we had got back (I will review Brimstone separately) . Great service and we can't wait to book our 6th stay.

Room Tip: All of the rooms at Langdale are very nice, but a bit pricey. Check for offers by signing up to thei...

My partner booked the Langdale for my birthday as a treat and what a treat it was!!
We stayed in the infamous room 105, £225 for the night but was full of all the mod cons you would expect for that price. The room was spotless and very well presented, the facilities in the room were very accommodating and the whole layout made for a very enjoyable stay ;-)
The receptionist was lovely, very friendly yet professional as was the gentleman serving in the terrace bar.
We did eat in the hotel restaurant, I had lamb and my partner had the fillet steak. The food was absolutely sublime, we were there for most of the evening and we were pleased to see that we were not rushed to leave the table, even towards the end of service. My ONLY complaint was that our meals (starters, mains, desserts and cheeseboard) were not checked once they had been served, neither were we offered drinks once our glasses were empty so we had to pull waiters/resses when they were passing to take orders/bring food to other guests.
We finished our experience the next day with two full body massages in the spa. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay

Stayed for a couple of nights 28-29th Sept 2013. The room was beautiful with a jacuzzi and plenty of space, beautiful bathroom and facilities. Swimming pool, sauna etc were great! Breakfast was very good apart from the sausages which were very under-cooked!
The setting is gorgeous with plenty of good walks nearby and a pub called "Wainwrights" just around the corner.
We found the bar staff and waiting on staff to be excellent, although the Reception staff were quite unhelpful and everything seemed too much trouble!
This would not stop me from going back, I had a lovely time and would definitely highly recommend the hotel and facilities!

Room Tip: we stayed in room 132 and loved it

Got a Go Ape voucher for my birthday, had a google and found grizdale was the best for the tree top adventure (which was great fun and recommended) after that I was looking forward to getting to the hotel and relaxing, check-in was swift then a short walk over to our room, room was great nice with large with an entrance hall, large wardrobes, good size tv, amazing bathroom, Elemis toiletry's (my partner and I both said this was the best shower we have ever had) then off to the leisure facility's, spotlessly clean, very relaxing! Try the deluge shower! then over to purdey's restaurant which is part of the complex for our meal which was delicious, scallops to start followed by the salmon both very tasty, special mention to Matthew who was great and very accommodating, over all a fantastic night away and already looking forward to returning!

We arrived only to be told we had a 1st floor room, I have MS difficulty with stairs, Not a problem they changed things around, only we had to move to a different room for our 2nd night, we were compensated for this by being upgraded to a beautiful room each with King size 4 poster beds each. :( I was with my mum for a mum & daughter break.
We did enjoy our stay although we thought the menu's in the restaurant was quite limited, I'm not a fish lover so 2 main meals with fish 1 vegetarian we were a little disappointed, although what we had was beautiful. Staff very pleasant. Spa staff were very experienced although I have had better facials and massages a lot cheaper at other spa's. Also I wouldn't really call it a Spa as such as they had a pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi but no other area's on offer, ie: relaxing room for after your treatment, this I would have expected because of the cost of the treatments.

Room Tip: Both of the rooms we had were good, quite a walk from the main hotel though.
