Owner description: Oxley's at Ambleside is a haven of peace & tranquillity. Escape from it all and experience the relaxing and rejuvenating effects of time spent at an Oxley's Spa. Situated in the centre of Ambleside, surrounded by the lakes and fells of the English Lake District, our Spa reflects the natural beauty and serenity of the area. If you're short on time treatments start from half an hour but we'd love you to stay longer and put your feet up with a magazine and a drink in our relaxation lounge or, for the ultimate in relaxation, treat yourself to one of our Spa Days. Treatments include indulgent massages, detoxifying body wraps, beautifying facials, manicures & pedicures, Kissed by Mii spray tans and a range of holistic therapies. Spa Days include treatments from half an hour to three hours, full use of the leisure facilities and a delicious lunch. We now also offer a half-day Mini Spa Experience. We use only the finest pure, natural and where possible, organic spa products including Decleor, Neom, Jessica and Live Native. For over 40 years Decleor have studied the multitude of positive effects in essential oils and their benefits for the skin and senses. They are one of the most internationally trusted and respected professional spa brands.

I was here earlier today for a back massage, Decleor facial and gel pedicure - and it was wonderful! I am on holiday and was pleased to find the spa on a visit to the town. The treatments were great, thorough and tailored exactly to my requirements. The atmosphere was extremely comfortable and relaxing. On booking and on the day itself, all the staff I met were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Nikki who did my treatments and was great to chat to (during the pedi - I was too chilled during the facial/massage :-) ).

I highly recommend if you're looking for high quality and well priced treatments in a relaxed setting.

I visited the spa today with a friend, just as a treat to ourselves! After a minor issue with getting to the public car park (don't bother trying to park at the spa or Salutation hotel) we were greeted at the spa with a drink and selected our choices for the two course lunch.
We were shown around and given slippers, a robe and a towel to use whilst we were there. Me and my friend both chose to have facials. They were brilliant. Great products and great staff, especially Nicky, who were friendly and helpful and gave advice to me on what products my skin could benefit from. And our skin looks lovely now!
The lunch was served in the hotel. We didn't have to get changed out of our robes to go into the dining room, which was good. The portions were very generous and tasty! Although we were not asked if we would like anything other than the jug of water on the table to drink, despite another table having wine and juice (but that was the hotel staff and not the spa staff).
After lunch we used the pool, sauna and jacuzzi. They were having problems with the steam room so we didn't get to use it. There was also a gym that you could use if you wanted.
Overall, lovely day spent at the spa. I'd definitiely go back just for the facial and I'd like to try other treatments too.
Thank you to the staff at the spa.

My wife had the 'Decleor Treatment of Distinction' here in June 2014. She reported that the experience was fabulously relaxing and can't wait for another opportunity to book again.

We had a minor issue with Oxley's a couple of months ago, the details of which are not important. Suffice to say, they went above and beyond to resolve the matter to my wife's satisfaction. Fantastic customer service.

My daughter and I went for a facial at the Blue Fish Spa. The staff were very friendly and the treatment rooms and relaxation area were lovely. We were made to feel very welcome and if we had been staying in Ambleside for longer we would have definitely gone back again. A special thanks to Rachel who is obviously a bit of a star!
