“Chester would be proud!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

Great fresh food that looked good and tasted great. Shop very nice with plenty for you ladies to look at. Take away cakes and breads taste great as well. Yes, as others have stated its a bit on the pricey side - but the quality of the food makes up for this. Enjoy.

“Shop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to pop into the coffee shop. I did however have a quick look around the shop, which looked fantastic, there was a wide range of items for sale. Everything was clean, neat and tidy and the staff were very friendly. Parking was not a problem as they have opened a second car park when the first becomes full.

“Fantastic location and lovely food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

Chesters cafe, bakery and shop is a fantastic place to stop on your drive through the Lakes. The staff are extremely welcoming and the location is beautiful. We arrived at 11am, which is well recommended as it gets really busy at lunchtime.

The toddlers in our party loved the oven baked pizza and dog photographs everywhere.

Lovely history behind the name Chesters...worth reading the website before you go.

“Good Coffee Shop/Bakery/Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

On arrival at Chester's, select your table first and remember the table number. Join the queue to order and pay for your food and drink. They will ask for your table number and deliver your order when it is ready.

The queue to order can be rather slow, especially at peak times, but the food on offer is well worth the wait.

We shared a great pizza and a superb raspberry and fresh cream cake. We also had a great cup of 'builders' tea each.

Great food in a superb location, overlooking a river ... what more could you want.

By the way, those of you looking for Chester's in Ambleside will be disappointed. It is in Skelwith Bridge 3.5 miles away.

“Great coffee, tasty food and delicious cakes.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014

Everything was tasty and delicious and the flat white coffee was excellent. It is refreshing to visit a restaurant that serves great food, seems to be able to keep their staff(recognised both waiting staff and chefs from previous visits) and is in a beautiful setting.Only complaint is that it is particularly busy during the tourist season and there seem to be never-ending queues!!! Will definitely be returning when the summer trippers have gone.
