Having researched the numerous eateries in and around Ambleside we finally decided to hedge our bets on the Glass House; it was a chilly evening and we were perusing the menu on display outside but were invited in to the restaurant to view the menu in the warm and in better light. The warm welcome and tasty looking menu ensured we were there for the evening and we were not disappointed.

We opted for the prawn noodle starter followed by the seabass with truffle mash and salmon with soy and honey, along with two glasses of wine; all were tasty, so we then treated ourselves to the chocolate mousse/fondant with raspberry sorbet.

The meal and service were all good and we didn't begrudge paying the £47 unlike the night before when we dined at Doi Intanon.

All in all...lovely fresh tasty food in a nice building with good friendly service.

It was suggested we try this restaurant and we are so glad we did. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding, we both had the lamb and it was so tender it just fell apart, we would highly recommend this to anyone

We came for dinner on a saturday night. The restaurant was nice but we felt very rushed, were only in 5 minutes and they were asking us for an order! We were also put on a large table in the corner with a very bright light in our face. The food was nice and price wise it was very good, but dont think we will be in a rush to return.

At last a great meal experience in amble side. Visited this restaurant sat 2nd march. Waiter was outgoing friendly and helpfully
We had breads to start with oils fantastic followed by duck salad and chorizo starters. The tastes are excellent all presented to a top quality standard mains were not to disappoint my lamb with dauphinois potatoes was the most tender lamb I've had in ages and my wife's fish pie was also very tasty. The total bill including bottle of wine 2 starters 2 mains and two cappuccinos under £60 well worth it. High quality food at affordable prices in an unusual 4 level restaurant with a great vibe this should be number 1 on here it certainly is for us especially if its a meal out your after and not a cafe with a bar experience .... Fantastic
