“Loud server”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Our meal was satisfactory, although a bit lacking in imagination and flavor. The hardest part of the evening was the server's loud and abrasive voice and her abrupt manner. Once she made a noise so loud it sounded like a bark; I jumped from surprise.

“Enjoyable lunch”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

We called in to this restaurant for lunch.
The grill was closed, but the bar was open and had a full range of bar meals available.
I had a very well presented chicken Caesar salad and my wife enjoyed her 'catch of the day', salmon.
This was followed by a shared cheese platter and coffee.Although the bill was on the expensive side for a bar meal we both enjoyed it and would return.

“Lovely spot on the lake”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Enjoyed a Lovely lunch here on a rainy Wednesday. This place is modern, has great food and drink, lovely outdoor area and nice views across windermere.
My wife opted for the bacon cheeseburger whilst I had the pulled pork, both were delicious. We then shared a sticky banoffe pudding which was sublime.
Fantastic restaurant do not miss.

“Modern style bar & restaurant set in the Lakes”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Visited on a bank holiday weekend so very busy and the restaurant was fully booked but we were able to eat in the bar. They didn't really make this very clear to other people who just came in on the off chance and the manager (?) came across as quite rude/unhelpful and really annoyed one potential customer but to be honest I think this was partly due to his style of humour. When I asked what wine they had he answered red and white, but having accepted this as mildly amusing he did name some choices. We sat looking out at part of Windermere lake and ate freshly cooked tasty and reasonably priced fish and chips. The bar food menu had a reasonable variety of dishes, not sure if it had everything that the board outside advertised for the restaurant but it might have (and some of the people who were put off by the managers' manner probably would have found there was sufficient choice). As it was still early and the setting/atmosphere was pleasant we tried 2 of their cocktail style gins which were quite expensive but good and a little one off treat whilst visiting the Lakes. Also they were served by a younger waiter who understood the importance of good service (what a difference polite/friendly/efficient service makes!).

The bar area is bright, clean, comfortable, relatively small but with a reasonable distance between the tables but in busy periods you'll have to take pot luck on getting in.

If you want to eat in the restaurant then make sure you book but it's worth a visit for either a drink or meal in the bar area.

Can recommend the crayfish and prawn linguine starter - very good. Food served promptly and to perfection. Nicely presented in a superb location overlooking Waterhead bay.
