I stayed at The Rysdale for four nights in a well appointed room with a very comfortable bed dressed in crisp white linen. The bathroom was immaculately clean and had great water pressure to ensure a relaxing hot shower at days end. Breakfast, which is pre-ordered the night before (good idea in my books) was served in an elegant dining room piping hot and made with good quality ingredients. The lounge area offered a great selection of reading matter in comfort should you choose to stay in doors. The location is excellent, close to sites, shops and restaurants, and although on a main road one is not disturbed by the flow of traffic once inside.
Allan & Dianne are welcoming, attentive hosts who offer great suggestions on all that Ambleside has to offer and make sure that all their guests needs are met. Their cleaning lady is a ray of sunshine with her constant smiles. I have given "excellent" to all sections on this review, for that is what I experienced during my stay. Rysdale is Allan & Dianne's home and I thank them for welcoming me and giving me a relaxed and comfortable stay.

Very helpful in offering flexible accommodation for myself and two children at short notice. Great location for walking straight from the B&B yet easy to get out for restaurants, shops and entertainment.
Just what we needed.

Stayed at the Rysdale for 4 nights. Had a lovely room, great view to the church and green opposite, very pretty. So close to all that you could need. Shops, pubs, restaurants and attractions all within a few minutes walk. Great places to eat and some real pubs. . Provided with a parking permit which covered all the local places that we went to. Breakfast was excellent. Cereal, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and then your choice of hot food. Haven't stayed b&b before so assume 8.30-9 for breakfast is normal. Suited us but maybe not everyone. All in all a great place and very friendly hosts. Would highly recommend.

What more could you want from a guest house ... first class loaction, lovely views, great room, stunning breakfast, clean and tidy, welcoming and well run, a pleasure to stay there. Alan and Diane have the best guest house in town and make the best cuppa you will ever taste!

Go and stay ... and dont forget to have a go on the crazy golf opposite or go to the moveis ... oh and a bath bun from the apple pie shop at the end of town!

See you again soon

After deciding we wanted to get away last minute we decided to stay at rysdale because of their location and reasonable rates. From the very moment we arrived we felt nothing but welcome by Alan and Diane who make excellent hosts, not only that but the place was immaculate, the decor / room is very much to our taste and the breakfast was fantastic with a great selection. We are already planning out next visit and would stay again in a heart beat. Thank you again for a wonderful stay you made us both feel at home. See you again soon.... Adam & Corinne.
