“Disappointing”
Reviewed 5 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The accommodation was smaller than I expected, a little too cramped for 3 adults. The other major disappointment was the lack of any windows in the downstairs area (kitchen and lounge), which didn't help with the claustrophobic feel.

I am really, really sorry that you found No 2 The Old Coach House claustrophobic. The cottage is built into the hillside and guests comment on how private it is whilst still being in central Ambleside. I appreciate your feedback.

“Perfect location for Great North Swim”
Reviewed 6 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This is the second time we have stayed at this beautiful cottage, in the heart of Ambleside - and within walking distance of the Lake. It was exactly as we remembered it from last year, immaculately decorated. The cottage has a lovely friendly feel, and Ernie (our daschund) loved the treats that had been left. We were really grateful for the milk, bread and juice, but more so for the welcoming bottle of wine.
I would highly recommend this cottage, and owner to anyone.

“"A little gem"”
Reviewed 5 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Excellent location, right in the heart of Ambleside centre. Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished through out to a vey high standard. Loved the quirky layout and wouldn't' hesitate to return. Highly recommended

“First class property”
Reviewed 4 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Loved everything about this cottage, very comfortable, beautiful décor, furnishings etc, great central location both for the town and the surrounding areas. Nice touches, bread, wine, tea, coffee etc. in kitchen, toiletries in bathroom. The little seating area outside the door is a sun trap, the parking space, though tight, is a boon in this very busy town.

Reviewed 29 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Myself my partner and son stayed for a long weekend and could not have had a better experience. The cottage is immaculate and location perfect. The owners really go above and beyond to make sure your stay is everything you are looking for. Would highly recommend staying here.

“Fabulous quirky cottage!”
Reviewed 2 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We are coming to the end of a 3 day stay at the end of May. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect between Ambleside town centre and Waterhead. According to other posts which say parking is narrow...Well we have a Mercedes A Class and it fitted quite nicely next to a big BMW X5 with no problems at all. The fact that the cottage is also dog friendly just makes it fabulous. The place is a perfect little hideaway for a relaxing stay in the lakes. Will be sad to leave today.
Thank you so much Margaret for the wine and essentials left it was such a lovely thought. X

Thank you so much for your great review and yes the parking space is perfectly adequate and is a bonus to have in such a central Ambleside location!!! and with the amount of activities right from the doorstep hopefully the car does not have to move - Hope to welcome you back in the future. Mx
