Decent pub grub in a Welcoming environment. We had fun doing the pub quiz. I Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

Very popular pub just behind main shopping street in Cockermouth. Well worth seeking out for excellent choice of local beers and quality locally sourced pub food. Book a table to avoid disappointment on a Saturday evening.

perfect meal and lovely setting. Service very good and nice big portions with big chunky chips all freshly cooked, we will be coming back for sure.

Had the battered Brie, which I hadn't seen before, which was nice. The best part though was the steak and ale pie- as others have mentioned, this was a real pie with short crust pastry top and bottom and not a dish of stew topped with flaky pastry as is so often the case nowadays. All washed down with a few pints of their own ale- heaven! Service was friendly and efficient. My only negative comment would be that the back part of the pub is a bit gloomy, as there are no windows. Sit in the front part though, which I did, and it is a nigh on perfect pub experience.

We were recommended to eat here by locals of Cockermouth. This pub boasts it's own micro brewery which was a great attraction to my other half and it didn't disappoint. We both opted for soup, and the sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection. The beer battered onion rings were to die for! More than enough to eat. Even the coffee was excellent. A lovely meal at a reasonable price and the service was perfect.
