I had a five day stay at the Hundith recently and couldn't fault anything. Food, room, staff and location were excellent. Definately visiting again. One small glitch was that I was in room seven, which is above the staff/kitchen door. It shuts with a BANG everytime somebody uses it. It disturbed me a couple of times.

Room Tip: If you get room seven, ask for another....It's right above the kitchen/staff door, which shuts w...

We've stayed here before and sure enough it was good as our previous experiences.Rooms are weel decorated and furnished and linen crisp and clean. The food was up to its excellent high standards with sufficient menu variation to cover three nights.Good ale in the bar and a good wine selection for the dining room.Packed lunches are just right for that light midday snack. In all areas the staff are particularly helpful.

Room Tip: Coutyard rooms have limited parking at the door - arrive early to grab a place!

Went for lunch and although the food was not bad it was no better than reasonable "pub grub". However, for the area the prices were high. Decor very nice, location beautiful but not surprised that there were only 6 people eating at those prices.

Very friendly and good value for money. A stone's throw from the Buttermere Valley and great walking country.
Only a short way from the historic market town of Cockermouth and close to St Bees and Whitehaven.

Room Tip: For-poster with giant bath! Just ask for it.

Had our wedding on the 14th of July 2012, everything ran like clockwork. The staff were simply fantastic, from helping us organise the day, setting up the cake, nothing was to much trouble. The food was beautful the buffet was spot on. What with the spectacular veiws of the lakes, the sunny weather, We could have not wished for more. We had over 40 guests stay the night some ventured from as far as London, and everyone commented on the excellent rooms and breakfast/catering. We would just like say a big thankyou to all the fab staff making our day the best it could possibly be. xxx
