We are not a family of fell walkers so found this really hard and must say we moaned for 70% of the walk... However must say the views are great and once started you must finish it !!

“Great view of Coniston Water”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

The road was quite steep and it was a bit of a hike up but worth it for the view when you got to the top.

“A great day walk on an interesting Lakeland fell”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Several clear paths up this beautiful mountain but take a map and compass ( and the skills to use them). Best route is from the Sun Inn in Coniston and up to the Walna Scar road, this will take you past the old disused mines which is very interesting. You can see the old ruined buildings and some of the old workings.

“A beautiful walk”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Drive up the Walna Scar Road and park on the fell just past the gate. You are then already a third or so up the mountain, past the boring bits. On a good day, the views are wonderful from this point on, all the way to the top and back down again. One of the best walks in the Lake district - a steady climb, but not difficult.

“this is a must!”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

My son and I made this into an eleven mile trek but given the fabulous views it was well worth it! We were advised to set off from Little Arrow so that we got the benefit of views both on the way up approaching the cairn and on the way down looking into Coniston. Take opportunity to look round remains of slate mine.
