“Fantastic cottage in stunning location”
Reviewed 23 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Tethera Cottage and it was wonderful. We were given excellent directions to the cottage which were appreciated considering the 'out of the way location'. The cottage itself is very comfortable and tastefully decorated in a modern style. It has everything you need for your stay and we even received a lovely welcome pack which included home made goodies, bread, milk and even a bottle of wine. A lovely touch! The cupboards were well stocked with things like salt, spices and even foil & sandwich bags. Again this was a lovely touch. As one reviewer has said previously, there is a long term tenant adjoining but we never even knew they were there and there is no garden, but there is a courtyard and a storage shed/outhouse and something like 25 acres of land surrounding the cottage! We really felt at home here as the cottage is just so cosy. If you don't want to be completely cut off, there is wifi which is great as you may not get mobile signal. All in all an excellent cottage in a beautiful location with very helpful owners.

“Very comfortable but website pictures are a bit misleading”

This is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage and is in a good location for accessing the southern lakes. Just a warning that the website pictures seem to show that the cottage is detached but, in fact, there is a long-term tenant in an adjoining cottage. Also the cottage sits behind another building so there are no views of the countryside from any of the windows. This wouldn't stop us returning but was a bit disappointing considering the lovely pictures on the website.

Beautiful surroundings ..... perfect location, secluded within easy reach of surrounding villages. Breathtaking views.......The cottage itself, is perfectly formed, modern and cosy with everything you would need for a romantic break.... even with a 9 month old baby. Welcome pack including a good bottle of wine and lots of other goodies....... yum yum. Log fire ready for lighting. Highly recommending to friends and family.
