“Above and beyond”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

We visited while on a weekend away in coniston and went to the cafe everyday we were here.

On our first visit the service and food was so superb we decided to use it as 'our lunch spot' everyday.

Our little boy was very fond of the blonde lady who served us. He bought more duck food than all the other kids in coniston because of her.

She even gave us table service on a day I'm not sure it even applied!

Food was also fantastic, even on such a busy day!

We are planning our next trip to coniston around the bluebird and I recommend you do too!

“Superb setting.........”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Sat on the terrace in the blazing sun (shade available) which reflected on the water with the Black Rock Coppice as the backdrop and the Steam Yacht Gondola performing on the Lake, wonderful.
Had a sandwich and coffee , both good - it does not get much better than this .......

“Bacon Butty and a Walk”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I live in the Lakes and came here one morning for a bacon butty and coffee before a walk along to Torver pier. Would wholly recommend this place for its setting alone and the bacon was thick (almost like gammon!) so very tasty. Park in Coniston school to avoid paying premium National Trust car park prices.

“Beautiful location & great service”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

We stopped in here on a very hot day in need of some much-needed cold drinks and ice-creams after our cycle ride. Although very busy, we got a table inside next to the outdoor verandah and were able to take advantage of the wonderful lakeside view!

We only chose some bottled fizzy drinks and some Walls ice-creams - so not unique items.

The staff were very friendly and brought us a highchair for our son and some glasses with ice for our bottled drinks. It was very busy but service was quick as there were lots of staff on hand.

Although we didn't eat, the cafe has a 'premium' feel to it - from the modern interior to the menu offering more than just sandwiches and toasties (eg. homemade fish fingers). The display of cakes looked fabulous. I would definitely like to eat here.

The whole place (including bathrooms) was very clean and I thought the free nappy sacks was a nice touch on my visit to the baby change with my son.

I hope to return to drink in more of that amazing view and sample some of the delicious looking food.
