Review of Spoon Hall Pony Trekking - CLOSED

Spoon Hall Pony Trekking
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Did this yesteray with my family and can honestly say we all had a ball. Coniston fells are stunning and the trek is not for the faint hearted but the family make sure everyone is ok and we felt safe and looked after at all times. We were out for much longer than an hour and it was definitely value for money, views to die for, great horses (Tommy is a gem) and lots of local information. A first class experience with friendly horses and lovely people, dont go anywhere else. We will be back.

We went on an hour treck during May half term. We are a family with 11 yr old and 8 yr old that have never been on a pony before. Both the staff and ponies were very friendly! It was such a lovely introduction to riding with beautiful views of Coniston lake. Would recommend.

Kids have asked for a horse ride so we got to this lovely farm on the lakes. The staff are very friendly and told us many local stories through the trip, which made it even better.
We called to order and payment is in cash

We visited Spoon Hall in the easter break having driven past the sign loads of times on the way into coniston. The farm is family run and everyone was so nice and friendly and spent a lot of time reassuring our children. We went for the 1 hour tre which was more than enough for us, as we all had wobbly legs when we dismounted at the end. The trek takes you up through the farm and onto the fells. The climb was steep in place but the horses were very steady calm animals. The views as you climb above the lake are fantastic.
It must have been good as after a week of biking, boating and go -ape they said it was the best it of the holiday

My friends and I recently booked an hour trekk, we had such a wonderful day. The family who run the trekk were so friendly, and had some very interesting things to tell us along the way, with plenty of local history thrown in too! The horses were a pleasure to ride, very happy and calm, which was reassuring as all of us were beginners. Also, the horses are extremely well cared for by the family. Not only is the route the trekk contain a variety of terrains, the scenic views along the way are breathtaking. Overall, this is a must for anyone wanting to get in the saddle whilst visiting the area.
