“Disaster”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

My son and daughter-in-law and their two children were in a party of seven on horseback, with some walking attendants, on 3 July 2014. Something startled the animals and they all bolted. Six of the riders were thrown, including all of my family. My granddaughter sustained a fractured humerus, my grandson was bruised and shaken, my daughter-in-law suffered severe muscular sprains and my son was air-lifted to hospital with multiple fractures involving 7 ribs. He had several days in hospital on IV therapy and is still suffering.

Beware!

“Dont miss it”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Did this yesteray with my family and can honestly say we all had a ball. Coniston fells are stunning and the trek is not for the faint hearted but the family make sure everyone is ok and we felt safe and looked after at all times. We were out for much longer than an hour and it was definitely value for money, views to die for, great horses (Tommy is a gem) and lots of local information. A first class experience with friendly horses and lovely people, dont go anywhere else. We will be back.

“Excellent for beginners.”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

We went on an hour treck during May half term. We are a family with 11 yr old and 8 yr old that have never been on a pony before. Both the staff and ponies were very friendly! It was such a lovely introduction to riding with beautiful views of Coniston lake. Would recommend.

“friendly stuff with great views”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

Kids have asked for a horse ride so we got to this lovely farm on the lakes. The staff are very friendly and told us many local stories through the trip, which made it even better.
We called to order and payment is in cash

“great time had by all”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

We visited Spoon Hall in the easter break having driven past the sign loads of times on the way into coniston. The farm is family run and everyone was so nice and friendly and spent a lot of time reassuring our children. We went for the 1 hour tre which was more than enough for us, as we all had wobbly legs when we dismounted at the end. The trek takes you up through the farm and onto the fells. The climb was steep in place but the horses were very steady calm animals. The views as you climb above the lake are fantastic.
It must have been good as after a week of biking, boating and go -ape they said it was the best it of the holiday
