Stayed for two nights as attending a wedding. First the rooms....simple, clean and a good size. This markets itself as a classic b & b not a boutique hotel so fine by me. The location is perfect! Minutes away from all local amenities including shops and free cash machines. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Friendly, helpful, and willing to help in anyway. I had a small slip in the shower and within an hour I had a slip mat. Will definitely stay again xx

Hotel in great position. Bar area very nice. The rooms - oh dear! Mismatched antiquated furniture with coffee rings. Wash basin in room and nowhere to put towels. Plastic cups to hold toothbrushes. And the bathroom! 70s style comes to mind! Sorry but couldn't use that shower!
Café for breakfast- no cloths, cutlery, condiments. All get yourself! I understand this hotel is undergoing refurbishment but expect better than that .Dont expect luxury but expected better than this!

We stayed in this hotel 27th May for 3 nights, the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble,
We stayed in room 9, it was lovely and clean, the shower hasn't got much pressure but then we were on the top floor.
The bar is nice and drinks and food are reasonable.
Breakfast is served in the cafe, choice of cereals, fruit juice, full English which my husband really enjoyed, I had the veggie option.
There is parking for a few cars, if you manage to get one you need to leave your car keys, so they can move it if someone needs to get out.
We would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so ask for a lower floor if you have to, there are two flights of stairs to the to...

Used as stop over between legs of Cumbria Way Walk. Central in Consiton, easy to find. Restuarant did standard bar food. Very helpful staff - we'd booked in a different name to the one our luggage arrived in from the Sherpa's and they'd spent the day making sure they didn't have a double booking and had tried to find an alternative if there was a double booking. Not many folk go that length esp when it would have been our fault!

Room was large and comfy (we had number 4 - double and single). Excellent value compared to local youth hostel which wanted more for a room in a dorm.

Room Tip: Room 4 was up two layers which meant hefting bags, but the staff offered to help. Further away from...

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, great location, nice room, good breakfast and the manager really went out of his way to sort us out when travel arrangements to the wedding we were due attend fell through. I would highly recommend.

Had a lovely time staying at this hotel over the Easter weekend. The staff and owner were extremely helpful and friendly.

Rooms and bathrooms were not huge but nicely decorated and very clean.

Food in the pub/restaurant was great. Fish, chips and peas after a days walking went down very well and the breakfast was excellent.

Location wise it's perfect and there are lots of nice restaurants and pubs nearby too. It's a 20 minute walk to the beautiful lake where we spent many an hour relaxing and sunbathing - we were very lucky with the weather : )

We will definitely stay here again when we return to coniston. Thanks Yewdale Hotel for a great weekend.

We called in when passing through the area for lunch. Food and beer were good - I has a lovely black pud salad. Staff were very friendly and helpful, apologising for the delay in service due to a large party of school girls in the café, although the delay was not that long!. The dog loved lying in front of the roaring fire. Exactly what we were looking for.
