“A quiet peaceful place”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

Beautiful quiet place that's good for an afternoon walk/exploring for yourself and your dog.
The route around the Tarn is easily to follow and not many steep ascents/descents- pushchairs and wheelchairs might be able to get around without too much trouble.

The only thing we felt let down by was the parking- we did go during a school holiday and near the middle of the day but had to wait nearly 10 minutes for a space - and after driving along a small road we didn't want to turn around! So the parking wasn't great but was only about 2 minutes walking from the Tarn.

A great place for a picnic, a bimble around, a nature walk or just to let your dog play in the water.

Easily accessible for all abilities. This tarn has easy walks and good parking. Lots of wildlife and interesting things to look at around lake. Orienteering too.

“Perfect Family Walk”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

The great thing about Tarn Hows is that it is an ideal spot for all ages. We went with children and grandparents and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their walk, taking in the fabulous scenery, wildlife and the now, rather valuable money tree. The path around the tarn is smooth and with only a couple of gentle slopes, it isn't too strenuous for anyone. If my mum can get around after four hip replacements and a knee replacement, then I'm sure most other people can. There are toilets at the car-park and a little ice-cream van selling snacks and drinks too, should you require some relief and a little sustenance.

Been here a few times, quite nice for a quick easy stroll out with the dog. Beautiful in the Autumn and spring with different colours on the trees.
