We stayed for a long weekend and were really impressed with the welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. The breakfasts had proper bacon and sausages and the chickens, sheep and birds outside the window were a good entertainment bonus too!

Lovely b&b with friendly owners. Plenty of parking. Very comfortable bed, clean and freshly decorated room and bathroom which had a fabulous shower. Ample tea & coffee in the room. We stayed in the Lakeside room which has stunning views. The breakfast was really good quality, with plenty of toast and tea & coffee. My only issue, and this will probably not be a problem for most, was that the breakfast was served a bit early for us at 8.30 am on a Sunday. However, it was worth getting out of bed for.

Would highly recommend this B&B. Very friendly owners, great location , clean rooms, and a good breakfast . Owners very kindly will taxi you down to the local pub in Torver the nearest village to Browside, about a mile away.Very good value, I would certainly go again and would recommend Browside as a place to stay when visiting the Coniston area.

My wife and I spent two nights at Browside, in the woodland room, our decision to stay here was based on the fact that Browside is less than 20 meters walk from a trail which takes fell walkers up to the "Coniston Old" man peak. A right decision as the stay was extremely welcoming. Both Helen and her husband were good hosts, always willing to help and give advice on walks, places to see etc. Each room has an in depthfolder of information, right down to timings for most cafes, pubs etc in the local Coniston village....excellent.
The B&B itself has modern rooms and bathrooms and is a very peaceful place to stay, it overlooks the Coniston water shoreline which is just 10 minutes walk away. I have to mention the power shower in the woodland room, probably the best ive had, just what you need after a days hiking!
Breakfast is great here too, plenty of choice with free range eggs from Helens chickens!
All in all, a great stay, we will be re booking for next year!

My Husband and I stayed in the Lake View room for 2 nights (17 + 18 June). It really is a room with a view, so quiet and peaceful, and funny to watch the chickens and sheep getting up to mischief (well, the little black sheep anyway!). I'm usually good at finding fault, but I have to say this B&B is perfect ... great shower, comfy bed, spotlessly clean, friendly owner (and her daughter), delicious breakfast etc. Great location for walks or those wanting to drive further out. Cannot praise this place highly enough, we will definitely be returning!

My partner and I stayed there for 4 days and the room was very cute and well decorated. It was very clean and the bathroom was modern and well equipped with hot water at all times. The b&b is also a fully working farm which gave a very different atmosphere compared to other b&bs.
It's a very quiet place and I would say primarily for couples or just a couple of people; not really a larger group of people. There is no common room to hang out at, hence for a couple of people.
The breakfast was amazing and the room where we ate it was wonderful. Like a floating conservatory over the farm as it was higher up and just opened up onto the green farm areas.

Thank you very much for the lovely review, I must just point out to others reading the review, we are not a working farm, I can see why you might think we are as we do overlook my brothers sheep farm and my Dad who is a farmer does visit daily on his tractor, also our Son is a farmer and goes off to work each day in his landrover with his 2 working sheep dogs Jess and Mouse, but no I married a builder which is why I have such a lovely house, I was brought up on a farm so I loved your review !
