Wonderful freshly cooked breakfast with great choices- scrambled eggs were perfect, my husbands full breakfast with black pudding was excellent according to him. The service was wonderful and prices were good. Overall, great experience coming in from the wet and cold to a warm cozy environment.

This tea shop is at its best when Lee is working - and he usually is. He has a way with walkers, children, dogs, Grandmas and babies that is ecentricly charming.

The service is smily, attentive and fast and the food is delicious. Add to that a very high level of cleanliness and beautiful decor and you truly have an amazing cafe.

I love this place so please make sure ALL the staff are smily and attentive and welcoming - although it would be hard to match Lee's professionalism.

We've been for quick visits and on other less busy occasions we've hung around for two hours reading the papers and ordering more tea and coffee.

Can't wait to go back and have the Welsh rarebit and lemon meringue pie. Thanks so much.

Walked to Grasmere from Ambleside on a very wet day last week and had a great welcome here, along with our equally damp dog (who was given biscuits). Lovely soup, fantastic cake selection and excellent service. Didn't expect to be able to go into a cafe at all with a dog, so this was such an unexpected treat. Highly recommended - thank you Baldry's!

A proper pot of tea (loose-leaf), soups, sandwiches and salads to die for. At peak times you have to fight for a table, so it is always a delight to go when it is quieter. The place has genuine character and the staff really care. We love it!

Stopped here cold & damp after our hike. The soup was beautiful & tha warmed bap served with it made it all the more delicious. Tea served in fine china & gorgeous cake completed our visit. Totally recommend;)
