Apart from a minor problem finding the house 40m up a side road towards the National Trust regional offices, the two days we spent here were fantastic. The property is not in the middle of town and there is a fantastic moon lit stroll back from the village.
The owners go well out of their way in an attempt to please, and their input can be most helpful.
The quiet surroundings are a haven for nature, with badgers often being seen in the garden at dusk, just not by us as we were out.
Room 1 is lovely (not seen the others) being a good size with views over the fells behind Grasmere village. The bathroom appears newly refurbished this season.
We would go back again tomorrow.
Take a torch for the walk home from the village.
