On the day I visited, I was the only person there, which obviously makes it a better experience as you can see what you want to when you want to. I learned a lot, not just about Wordsworth, but the other Lakes poets too. There's some interactivity, but not as much as at some museums, but is staffed by very enthusiastic volunteers who can answer any questions. The ticket price includes free return for a year, so it's probably worth going back a second time to take everything in.

This complemented the visit to Dove Cottage. Interesting and insightful whether or not you were previously a fan.

This cottage was smaller and darker than I had expected, but all the more interesting for it. The guided tour was fascinating, and the village and lake of Grasmere were lovely.
