Interesting place. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to do it justice. Good for Lakeland paintings.

Not knowing a lot about William Wordsworth besides his famous poems, I thought I would be more interested in the cottage than the man. That changed on seeing his home, artifacts from his and his family's life and listening to the guided tour.

I left wanting to know more about Wordsworth, his sister Dorothy and his good friend and fellow poet Samuel Coleridge. Much of his original writing on view in the museum.

Beautifully kept just as it was in Wordsworth's time, log fires adding to the atmosphere, and guides to talk to you about the family

Visited this beautiful cottage on a Saturday with my fiancé.
The cottage was just how I imagined it! Beautiful.
We arrived at 1pm and we had already booked our tickets so went to collect them from the ticket shop... We were provided with a tour guide slot straight away and we were instantly directed to the cottage. We were met by a lovely lady who had great knowledge on Wordsworth and his family. She answered our questions and gave us a true insight into his family life.
The house was lovely with some original furniture and keep sakes.
You can also visit the museum and have a nosey around and they also have a gift shop.
Overall a fantastic place of interest especially for those interested in literature and history. I cannot say enough about the staff here! They are fantastic.
